Congratulations on your impending engagement. :smile1:

If I had to choose, I would go with the second one, except I don't like the E/W setting of the center stone. Make it a N/S and we're in business.

I feel like the first one just doesn't look like an engagement ring with all that...flourish around it. Also, considering how the flourishes curve around the center stone, I think that style would be better suited to a more squared center stone, the round is almost too round with it. I also think it might be difficult to find a wedding ring to wear with it.

Both are beautiful! The second one is very elegant as well. I know for a fact that HW DOES negotiate with prices...especially since you are in the market for at least a 1ct stone. My DH purchased a 2+ carat total weight three stone ring from HW and they were very open to discussion about price. Come to think of it, they were ready to discuss a better price on every piece of jewelry we were interested in. Good luck and congrats on your engagement!! Don't forget to show us pics when you decide and get your ring!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. It will be useful when I go visit VCA tomorrow. :D

stophle: I agree as well. The center stone should be N/S. I'm willing to explore other options besides from these two.

Are you planning on wearing a wedding band with it later? If so, you might want to try them both on with a band next to them to see how that changes the look for you. I prefer the first ring but I tend to like more bling. See if a wedding band adds or detracts from the look of both for you.

Beanskitty: Good point that you brought up. I have to see if there is a matching wedding band for that ring as I'm planning to wear both of them together. I would hate for the band to distract from the ring itself. :thinkin:

It's been a few months since we've been shopping for my ring. :p But I've narrowed it down to these 2. Both I want in emerald cut. Hope you guys can give me some feedback on it so I can make my final decision. :yahoo:
