Do you already have the RCM pro light? If so, I would not hesitate to give the one bottle of the OPI Gelcolor a try. OPI says 30 second cure, but I would use the full 45 seconds that is built in to the timer on the RCM light.

If you don't have the RCM light and want to use OPI (and not spend $300 on a lamp) I would suggest you buy the Sephora for OPI Gelshine light available at Sephora.

Your original question...... I have cured OPI Gelcolor for 45 seconds in the RCM lamp. Was it "properly" or "fully" cured. I have no idea. Nails lasted a little over a week which is typical of what I get with any SOG polish.

Thank you! Yes I have the RCM pro light, and I'll definitely try an OPI now. (Unfortunatly we can't get Sephora in UK)

I'm new to these products and want to ask about compatibility of the products. I have a gel shine kit but I want to know if gel shine and the gel color products can be used together. For instance can the gel color products be used with the gel shine base and top coat and vice versa? Thanks?

It is my belief that OPI Gelshine and OPI Gelcolor are one in the same. Gelshine is the consumer product sold though Sephora and Gelcolor is the Professional product that is supposedly only sold to professionals (many online retailers and ebay sellers sell Gelcolor to all).

So, yes, I think you could use base and topcoat from either line interchangeably.

I was wondering if they OPI products were the same. For those of you that have used the GELSHINE lamp with the Gelcolor, which base and top coat did you use?

I'd like to use what i have from sephora and then maybe purchase the gel color products thru ebay or somewhere, as I think they are a bit better price and the color options seem much better.

Most of the SOG products work well together. If you have a SOG that is UV cure only you should not try to cure it with LED. But all the SOGS cure in UV. I have personally used Shellac base and top, Gelish base, top, structure, and colors, OPI base and top, Sensationail color, and ProGel color. All mix and cure with UV. I now have only a LED lamp so I no longer use the Shellac. All the rest work well together and cure in my Gelish 18G. YMMV but most folks have had good luck with mixing all of the better known brands. When in doubt, test it on a swatch stick or just do one nail to see if it works. DIY often means TIY (try it yourself).

Hi
Does anyone know if the OPI Gelcolor versions of the upcoming "Germany" collection, will be available at the same time as the rnp is released? Assuming they will be available as Gelcolor?

I seriously doubt it would be available at the same time, if ever. Gelcolor picks most popular colors for gel polish. They have a ways to go before they are releasing them simultaneously with real nail polish collections

If your mixing lamps, remember. Compact Fluorescent UV Light (CFL) takes 2 minutes to cure most Gel Polish. So if your LED polish says you only need 30 seconds, you need to cure for a full 2 minutes if using a CFL lamp.

I just thought (hoped!) they might, as they released both Touring America & Holland collections as gelcolors.
