Thanks for posting Prada's Meadow! I have been justifying my extravagant jewellery purchases with the excuse that I will leave them for my daughter one day. Looks like daughters do not always share the same tastes as their moms (speaking for myself too)!

exaclty thats what i was thinking..maybe they dont get along well

Athina never got the opportunity to know her real mother, she was just 3yrs old when her mother Christina died of a heart attack.
I read where the auction will contain 235 pieces of her mothers jewelry, rings, bracelets etc.

One things for certain Athina doesn't need the money, she inherited 2.7 billion on her 18th birthday.
As wealthy as she is she simply doesn't wear this type of over the top jewelry. Her personality is very different from the mother she barely remembers or knew.

I admire her for being that wealthy and not placing something like diamonds as something of high priority in her life... Heck, I'm not even worth 1% of what she has and I looove diamonds.

Although I, personally, would never be able to sell my mother's jewelry (when I inherit it). I would have to be on the brink of dying of starvation to reach that point, and clearly she doesn't need the money. I'll refrain from judging though, as like mentioned, she was only 3 when her mother died and her family history seems to be a bit sketchy in terms of relationships.

I would never sell my mother's jewelry esp. if she only knew her up until 3. I would want to cherish and hold on to the things that my mother used to wear because thats basically all she has to remember of her mom..and the pieces are TDF~!!!!!! OMG!!! *jaw drop*

while the jewells are beautiful, i find it really sad that she would do that. she never got to know her mom cause she died so young and then sells off items that belonged to her? irregardless of whether or not she will wear the items, if there were items that belonged to my deceased mother, i could never sell them. clearly no sentimental value here!!

Here is another pic of the ring, and a pic of a rare Buddha by Carl Fabergé that was positioned on Onassis’s yacht likely to generate £250,000 to £350,000.

The third pic is a diamond pendent necklace set with a heart-shaped diamond, weighing 15.02 carats, suspended by a briolette-cut diamond and fine-link chain.

Really these are just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to see all 229 pieces she is selling off, click here for the link to the Christie's auction site, it's sale number 7606.
