Ame, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Did the jeweler mention why your prongs were so thin? Was it due to the accident? Since your ring was practically brand new as you hardly wore it, the prongs shouldn't wear out. I was wondering what would cause the prongs to thin out so fast since most prong settings last years.

The prongs are unrelated to the accident. That thinness is due to workmanship issues.

The diamond checked out to be perfect and will be reinscribed. GOG has found the inscription, though very faded. I will have it back next week. HOORAY!

All of my logic and education like...fell right out of my brain when we could not find it. I was a freakazoid!

I think it will just go in the safe for a little while.

Hi Ame! I'm late to this thread am so, so sorry to hear about the accident!! I hope you weren't seriously hurt??

Thank goodness the diamond is OK and that you found the inscription. Of the 4 links you posted (and I knew you'd pick good ones), I am loving the A Jaffe and the first BGD setting. I also love the idea of sapphire sides. My cousin has one and every time I see hers, I can't tear my eyes away -- so elegant. On the other hand, there's nothing quite like a simple 6-prong solitaire. I might be biased, though, I am loving mine right now!!! :smile1: Keep us posted on what you choose!!!

Will do! So far I cannot get anyone that sells A Jaffe nor A Jaffe to confirm they will set the stone higher as I would like (just high enough to see the culet), everyone so far as said "it comes how it comes." Which tells me no.

But right now my plan is to get my stone locked up for a while and the insurance on the setting handled because my sanity might not handle anything else!

I'm late to seeing this, Ame and am so sorry to hear about your accident. I know you are really concerned about resetting your stone and I have no advice for that. As to getting back to normal with driving, that will surely take longer than your ring. Just give yourself all of the time you need, as it can take years. I'm just glad you are physically okay, but getting to where you are mentally okay as well is just as important. Sending hugs and wishes for both your health and your ring search.

Thank you! I am definitely still a total nightmare. Grandma Mabel over here. I get a serious panic attack brewing. My husband's car has been highly unreliable the last couple weeks which has made it ever so slightly worse. My new car is on order, and will be a while unfortunately. But I cannot wait to get it. Every safety feature I could dream of, plus butt warmers!

I got my Tiffany band back today (it's been in for like 4 days, today was just my first shot to get up there). It looks pretty great! They had to do some work on the Channel so I am pleased that it looks as if nothing happened. It's safely locked away.

That's really too bad :( I hope you can find something you love soon. Hugs to you Ame <3 <3 <3

It sure sounds like it has been rough the past little bit and I'm hoping there will be dawn on the horizon for you in some way shape or form. New car is definitely going to be a cheer-up... so I hope that comes sooner.

YAY BUTT WARMERS. My favourite feature on a car.
