OMG this is an expensive lesson to learn...

try talk to d seller c if they can help u produce some kind of proof receipt? hope d custom yet to destroy it ,gd luck find a solution
and the next problem is that if they know even with certificate that it is lizard, as I understoud those guys, I won´t get it because it is on the exotic watch list....

I just realize Why this happened. The price made them suspicious. I should have asked to declare lower value...
First Time I ordered a bag from Outside EU I asked to declare low Value, it was a bag. The low Value made them suspicios and I had to Pay a Fortune for customs and duties but at least I got the bag!
I really learned much now!
Never again exotics.
Sad, they are impossible to come by within EU....

You cannot imagine how stupid I have been.
I ordered a Mykonos lizard KD from let Trade matching to a scarf I recently bought.
I had completely forgotten that it is Not allowed to Import exotics.
When I went to customs today they refused to live it to me and also refuse to send it back.
I am so pupset and sad and cannot believe I spent so much Money on NOTHING!
this is just unbelievable!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. That's s silly, they should definitely send it back. What does it harm customs....? Where in Europe do you live?

That's terrible!! I think the seller should have informed you that exotics are not allowed. From what I know, it takes 120 days for customs to clear on exotics. That's why many sellers refuse to ship to some countries.
This is a terrible situation but you cannot blame the seller. It is the responsability of the buyer to know what can be imported to their country, and how much Custom fees are etc. That is not on the seller.

OP: I am so sorry for you, and I can imagine how angry and upset you must feel!

That's what I was trying to say, of course I wouldn't put all of the blame on the seller. But I've had a couple of sellers I dealt with that would tell me upfront that they wont send exotics. I wasn't aware of the customs situation..
if it weren't for them, I would've been in this same situation right now.

Katika76, I hope you get the paperwork so you can get your things!
Even if it takes a long time. And please, please have fun or your vacation :hugs:

I have bought alot of CDCs from outside of the EU and never had any problems. It depends on what carrier the seller ships, or that is my understanding from reading the OPs posts. Ship with USPS/UPS and you´ll be fine.

The paperwork won´t help Katika, it is against the import laws to import lizard (in her country) so they will destroy it. I hope I´m wrong though!

thanks so much for the warning. I've been nervous buying and selling exotics internationally because of this.
If seller had included CITES would this have gone through? I would think it would be the seller's responsibility to include necessary paperwork for international shipping of exotics.

I do live in Austria.
maybe they have really strict instructions according exotics.
I did not think a minute about this when buying, I just thought Hermes would always be ok aslong I pay customs and duties....

thank you for your answer!
I really don´t blame the seller, it would have been up to me to check before buying. I just did not think about it...
I still son´t know the exact laws in Austria for these leathers, I thought with buying Hermes nothing would be a problem.... blonde;)
I contacted my seller just to know if they had have such a problem before and to let them know what happened, they were really friendly and helpful and told me they had added a certificate.
I saw the parcel at customs, they did not have opened it, I know that as the two guys there were discussing what to do and were it would have had to be sent to next. and when the specialist would have a look on it and so on.
so I don´t know if it would make a differnce if there was a certificate or not. they were so terrible there, and they did not listen to me as I suggested to open it and have a look on.... they were just discussing that it would need a lot of papers and so on.....
I will send an email there tomorrow when I am in a more relaxed mood and tell them that there is a certificate. maybe it helps, maybe not, let´s see.
the thing I am most offended of was the reaction of the guys there just sending me away with nothing....

I don´t want to blame the seller for this. it would have been nice to warn me, but maybe they did not have any of these problems before and even if, I should have checked in first place.....
I did not htink of this at all as I already purchased exotics from outside EU......

I was in contact with a reseller from the USA to buy a Kelly Wallet in an ordinary leather. She was very helpful and said, as she did not know if she could send leather items to Europe, she would ask the delivery company (Fedex) for information . She got back to me saying the problem was only for exotic leathers and so she sold me and sent me the the wallet with no problems.

I do think a bit of responsability should be taken by the seller of your item. He should know the laws or at least enquire. It is his job !!

I'm really sorry to hear this. I do wish any seller that ships internationally would know to mark packages "Return if undeliverable." That simple phrase often prevents this sort of thing from happening. I hope they make it right for you somehow. :flowers:
