Older date code on a new bag

I'm sorry if this has been discussed already and I couldn't find anything on the subject. I just purchased a Montaigne MM in monogram 3 days ago at my closest store. I didn't check the date code until I got home but it was made 5th week of 2020. The bag looks perfect so I'm not considering returning, but I'm just curious if this is common and what reasons could be for such a far off date code?

I bought my first Keepall early 2014 from my local store. It was made late 2011. Sitting on the shelf for a few months doesn't mean a thing. These bags don't have an expiration date. Enjoy your bag, it is a great choice.

I just received my speedy B 25 last week and the date code was the 8th week of 2020. It was wrapped in a way that looked new vs. a return as well. MIF.
