I love the first one because it seems more "blingy" to me!

I like both, but I think I like the second one better. The monogram is a little too fussy for my taste, and you have pretty much admitted that you really want the nameplate. You are NEVER too old for your name... especially in diamonds. I'm of the opinion that there is very little in the line of jewelry that one is ever "too old" to wear. Perhaps a plastic Elmo ring, but not a diamond nameplate.

Hmmm...maybe a diamond Elmo ring???

I vote for the nameplate too. I know a girl who has a gold monogram necklace like the diamond one you posted. It's sophisticated, but it's hard to tell what the initials are unless you really stare at it.

And you know.... someone, somewhere, is blinging out an elmo ring with diamonds and rubies. We've got icy Mickey and Hello Kitty and Tinkerbell.... why not Elmo? lol

Personally I think the first round one is so unique and frankly people wouldn't even know its a name plate as others have said, so it's a bit of a compromise if you're in two minds. The first one is quite stunning IMHO! Best of luck!

I have a gorgeous locket and you can't tell what the initials are...Old English style.

I, too, like the name plate... especially if it has loops and swoops to it.

They are made by hand so it should look like the pic...I believe it's script.

Now I'm thinking of getting both. Get 14K instead of 18K and G/H/SI1 diamonds rather then F/VS1. I could always wear the nameplate with my tennis necklace if I want to layer and have extra bling.
Maybe he'll give me a bit of a deal if I buy both................................
