Hi everyone!
I recently got my hands on a brand new Moynat Limousine in my fave Tourterelle color, Taurillon leather.
Person selling it online received it through a staff sale, as I understand.
Had been eying the Flori with the beautiful trunk closure for some time. Then saw this model on someone else and immediately recognized the lock as Moynat but didn’t know the model.
Seems they have discontinued the model now but also can’t find a lot of info about it. Tried to dig through this thread but it seems the name Limousine also belongs to their weekender type bag.

Was wondering if any of you have more info about it:
- Who designed it, Ramesh or Knightly rather.
- How long it was in production
- Why they discontinued it
I continue reading this thread and learn so much about Moynat from all of you.
Thanks!

The name was reused - the weekend bag was the large size version of a handbag from the original Ramesh collection (a bag with a similar vibe to H Victoria but with the signature Moynat curve).

This bag was from Knightly's first Moynat collection and a close cousin to an LV bag during his tenure there. I don't think it was in production that long but @Mousy I am sure has more info.
You’ve found a unicorn. I rarely see this bag on social media.:drinks:
Congratulations!
:flowers:

@bagnut1 is spot-on. This Limo style is a Knightly (debut) design and had a limited production over a few months’ time. This Limo did not sell well as buyers compared it to the iconic Gabrielle.

A unicorn! 🥰
I can imagine it didn’t sell well comparing it to other bags in this style & price category.
It doesnt have as strong of a signature like the Gabrielle and therefor makes it feel a bit like a Moynat answer to H Kelly.

If I had the 1:1 choice between Gabrielle & this one I would also choose the Gabrielle. I was able to negotiate it at a very good price so couldn’t let it go. Also I quite like that not many people recognize it immediately.

So Anesu posted a YouTube video today. Yikes! :whut:

I hope Moynat has a good 2024 and can change her mind. Sometimes being silent doesn’t work well for a brand in a social media era.

Well she didn't say anything that we haven't said here, and she seems _really_ out of the loop if she just "discovered" that Knightly is gone.

I agree with you about the weirdness of the silence.

I find her video extremely annoying. First she praises the brand and now suddenly doesn’t? Does she even have proof that the brand is cutting corners on the other designs?

I have to agree. This felt very clickbaity, hot take to me. I’m not sure how an artistic director impacts the quality of a piece - as far as its craftsmanship. I would imagine they influence the style, but the artisans themselves are still producing goods of the highest quality as they did previously.

I recently got my first piece (NY location), the Envelope PP in traditional canvas. I love it! Also, I got to me the famous-on-this-thread Curtis. So nice and helpful. He actually spilled a little tea, just a tiny bit. Look forward to new canvas designs/colors coming soon. He made the redesign sound HUGE, and very top secret. He said they’d be flying all the general managers to Paris, no photos allowed, releases in the flagships in early Feb. Very exciting!

I saw it very interesting. I hope they are able to get it together. I am really becoming fond of the brand.

Yes! Let’s just say Moynat’s iconic bag lovers have spoken and the brand is listening. They already have a winner with the Gabrielle line. It’s their top seller.
I’m excited to see how they expand their beloved designs. They have the financial backing to (hopefully) make a successful 2024 s/s launch. Let’s see if Anesu changes her tune.

So happy to hear they are listening. I hope they reissue some of their older bag styles from Ramesh. Specifically the Limousine, Pauline or Danse....just in case they are reading this.
