Oh, I see. JC had a line of bags in what they specifically called Liquid Patent a few seasons ago so that is what I thought you meant. They included the Mahala, Malena, Monna and a few others but they did not include the Ramona.
Oh Okay that is probably where I picked up the terminology ... Do you know if the soft patent (non textured) version wears better or worse than the textured one? I have an opportunity to pick up a very gently used excellent condition Ramona in the textured patent (I think it's called crushed patent) or should I go for the soft patent? Also does anyone know if the quality of the outlet bags are different? If I go soft patent I can get a new outlet version for about $700+ less than the pne currewty sold in Nordstroms.... Either way it's a large purchase i have it narrowed to these 3 bags but don't know which to choose ....

The outlet bags should be the same quality. I think the soft patent might show wear a little sooner, but it depends on the color. I'd say you are safer with black, just make sure you keep it away from any other patent. I have had my black "wet look" Riki (Choo name) for about 5 years and it has shown no wear at all and I do not baby it. It looks like the newer crushed patent bags. The lighter colors will show color transfer from dark jeans if you are not careful.

Thank you so much jmcadon I was definitely going for dark (black or navy) as I've just had to spend $300 to get color transfer off my offwhite Saba!! >:( ... I have seen some used crushed patent ones and it seems like they chip / flake could just be how it's being taken care of though I really like the look of the soft patent but I do not want to buy a new soft patent if it's going to show wear right away or if I have to really baby it like my saba.... I'm leaning toward the outlet one in soft or the gently used crushed now since you say thr outlet is same quality makes no sense to spend $700+ more to buy from Nordy :)

If anyone else has experience with crushed v soft/smooth patent please let me know :)

It's the size, the Riki is smaller, more of a medium size bag and the Ramona is a large bag.

The Riki is about 14 x 9 and the Ramona is about 17 x 11 (these are approx. measurements)
