There are a couple that I would love to have seen her pick.

Which one of the gowns is your favorite? Which design would you would have wanted the first lady to wear?

I really like the color of the Tracy Reece gown, but am not sure if I like the bodice.

Some of the designs seemed a bit too extravagant for a First Lady to wear at the inaugural balls and more like an Oscar dress.

ITA! I thought the Monique Lhuillier gown was stunning, but I am not sure if she could pull that off at a ball. It reminded me of something you would wear to the Oscars! After looking at the other options, I think the lovely white Jason Wu gown was the one for her too! :yes:

Socal: I like the Oscar de la Renta gown, it was a very simple and sleek look. Mizrahi's was also a nice look. Love how some of the designers included the kids in the sketches!

I thought the inaugural gown was beautiful, but I am not sure the detailing on the fabric translated well in photographs. I also think that a slightly lower waist would have flattered her more. She has a great figure and doesn't need the "pouf" to hide anything. I also really like the sketch of the Tracy Reece gown. I think the simpler style and the more vibrant color would have been very flattering.

I really liked a number of these dresses, but my favorite is still the one she wore..the Jason Wu! I thought it was so beautiful.

I agree with the pp who said that Jill *****'s gown was beautiful. She looked great with bare shoulders and in red. But I wouldn't have allowed bare legs to show between the coat/skirt and the boots for day. A slightly longer dress would have been more appropriate, IMO.

^^^ LOL you know I didn't even notice the bare knees, and while I don't know how climate appropriate they were ;) I just did not get that far down, the shoulders didn't work, just the whole cut and silhouette was not flattering to her.

In an offline conversation, it was suggested that Michelle's stylist may have been led astray by wanting to keep her warm!

My thoughts:

I freaking LOVE this couple and Malia and Sasha are just adorable.

The outfits were OK, I wish she would have chosen more bold colors like she did in the outfit when they visited the WH the first time. I really love Michell in BOLD colors. It fits her coloring! For the Gown, I loved the one shoulder (she has great arms and back), but I wish the bottom was a little less flowy and more structured. Liked the Monique Lullier dress.

Jill, ***** was bangin! She is bringing style to the VIce Lady position. The knee high boots, and I LOVED her red dress.

Lastly, they spelt Tracy Reese's name wrong on that site.

Also, I love that Mrs. O site.

I think she made the right choice, some of those were a little too beyonce for me. I did like Oscar de la Renta though guess I would stick with white. She often wears jewel tones and she wears them well but the white was quite refreshing
