I really like the lagoon, and hope it comes in montaigne somewhere in the world so BookerMoose can add it to her mountain somehow.:tender:

sbelle, Bryan and I talked about tPFers/BVers fondly a lot and somehow could not remember your tPF name! We were like "Gahhhh! what was her handle? but we know exactly who we are talking about, right?!" LOL.

I think the main reasons the vernice tote didn't sing to me are:
1) this patent is so soft and nice but it's still too shiny, after all I'm not really a patent person.
2) the python handles seem narrower and thinner and less exciting to me than the nuvolato's caiman handles with grommets. I ended up loving the caiman handles as I feel they give the tote a nice contrast, balance, and a little edge.
3) the nuvolato was 5700usd and the vernice is 6200usd. I thought I went totally nuts when I bought the nuvolato. I have to go beyond insane to buy the vernice.:D

wt, I'm hoping for the nappa assenzio too.

blueiris, you were in Paris? Where is your reveal thread?? Did I miss it?

Mid-, you didn't miss it (you never miss a thing!). I was in Paris last week, but I bought nothing from BV (and no, this isn't code for having bought from other brands--I bought nothing handbag-related during this trip). It wasn't for lack of trying! I visited both BV boutiques in Paris but nothing really spoke to me. I was looking at the Cabats, but neither boutique had the colors or sizes that interested me. Before this trip, I've only been to the BV boutique near Boston (once) and in NYC (once), so going to two boutiques in Paris was a treat for me.

Oh, there was one thing that really did speak to me--the ink ostrich Cabat  But I couldn't bring myself to spend the €15,500 :sweatdrop: The SA who helped me was very nice and allowed me to try it on and have a good look at it anyway.

I was not so keen on the handles though, and wonder what the CA version looks like. Overall it's a little too shiny for me and I didn't love it as much as I fell for the nuvolato.

I saw three assenzio pieces, the satin knot, the sfrangiato knot, and the tote with pockets. Assenzio looks to me a bit yellower than granny smith apple with slight grey tint on leathers. (

Thanks for your report on all of these pieces Mid-! :smile1:

I saw the California version of this bag on Sunday. I loved it. The handles were plain. I loved how squishy the leather was! I am not normally a fan of patent, but since this patent was so soft, I loved it. I saw it in Empire, and the color was gorgeous in person. I thought the color was much more vibrant and richer in person than it was in the Bottega website photos.

I fell in love with assenzio. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the tote in this color

So I went to the NYC boutique on Friday and got to meet bv.luxury! He is as sweet as you'd imagine and such a young handsome gentleman. He kindly took me around to show some of the resort pieces and we chatted away happily.

Mid-, you are too kind. It was a pleasure to finally meet a fellow tPfer and I'm glad we got to talk for a little bit. FYI: my colleagues upstairs [secretly] came down to see your Mini Cabat - they've never seen one in real life! Anyway, I hope to see you again soon and I look forward to meeting other NYC tPfer's!

:D

Oh, dear Bryan! I had such fun chatting with you. I would have been more than happy to show my mini up and close if they asked! I remember other SAs do a double take when I brought it there before.

I see you are keeping your Hawaii avatar and location.:D I hope you have winter gear ready. It's getting chillier tonight!!

kroquet, I would be super tempted if they have Lagoon Cervo Hobo!

blueiris, are you sure you didn't have something "shipped" to you?, like the ink ostrich cabat?

:woohoo:BookerMoose, crossing fingers and paws!!

Ranag, you saw the CA version! Is the handle style just like the python one? Can't wait for you to see the assenzio one!

Oh, dear Mid-, how I wish it were like my last visit to the BV boutique in February! I suppose you remember that time, when I honestly reported that nothing came home with me from BV but in fact I had my beloved orchid Cabat shipped to me. Well this time, my halo is for real  . I did not purchase the ink ostrich Cabat, as much as I wish for it even now. It was as wonderful in real life as I had imagined it to be from the online photos.

The handle style on the CA version was unremarkable (at least to me). All I really noticed about them was that they were not python. I am going to take another look at it this weekend, and I will try to pay a bit more attention to the handles. It is a bit difficult for me to compare to the python because I have not seen the python handles in person. I will have to study the photos of the python one before I go look again to see what the differences truly are :flowers:

I bet we saw each other, as was in the BV boutique on FSH and then looked at BV at Printemps and Galeries Lafayette. I was amazed at the stock of Cabats in Paris. I like the nero bag also, but wasn't in love w/ the patent. I almost left w/ the python messenger bag that was in the case at Rue FSH boutique, much nicer IRL I thought.

But I cheated and left with a Celine new large box bag instead and some jewelry.

Enjoy your treats! I didn't make it to bld. Haussman this time, and I didn't realize they had BV there--oh well. I was at both FSH and Ave. Montaigne boutiques, so we might have seen each other, true! And I agree, both stores had so many special Cabats on display, it was almost unreal.

As for the lagoon Cabat, I just heard that the US doesn't have it yet, so I feel lucky to have seen it on display!

The lagoon cabat has now reached the US BV's...saw two medium cabats and one large one at the San Francisco store on Monday ...displays were up just in time for the private sale. Very, very pretty...makes you want to grab one, stick a flower in your hair, and run off to a tropical paradise.

Inquired about a lagoon montaigne ..was told by an SA that the montaigne style was not included at all for the 2011 cruise season, at least not in the US buy.

Did see a nice medium campagna in Empire in-store (not displayed on the BV website.)
