Very funny!

The bag does strike me as odd. I do want to see it in person. I'm sure pictures do not do it justice.

I think once you look at the work involved in this type of treatment you see the bag in a different light. Sometimes the beauty of a bag cannot be captured in a photo. I found this to be the case with some of the iridescent clutches from the F/W2010 Collection. I can't wait to see it irl!
LLNeedle did make me :lolots:

So today the 5th Ave boutique did not really have resort pieces yet except for the nero brick, an assenzio ostrich convertible bag and the chocolate dipped chene large belly veneta that LT posted here.

My main interest was of course the second generation of nuvolato caiman tote, aka mini successor. I forgot to ask the name of the bag :push: and the pics in the buy book were so tiny, but here are some specs that I remember;

style and size: the same as nuvolato
body: doubled nappa fettuce like cabat (and not tubed like nuvolato)
handles: python, and nappa for CA
colours: nero, magma (orange), assenzio (absinthe-ish), and empire (blue)
price: 6200usd (for both python handles and nappa handles)

Each boutique gets only one or two of each colour and I sure hope to see them, especially assenzio, in person.

I think the SAs were confused about the two blues. I was told that empire is a dark blue, like ink but minus purple undertone, but that should be celeste, right? Empire seems like a true blue.

I'm liking magma too, which is the coral orange that Saks and Neiman have some online.

I like the brick bag and would love to see the all woven version in different colours.

The chocolate dipped chene large belly veneta looks much nicer in person indeed. Chene is very close to noce, to me it looked a bit lighter than noce. The SA said it has less yellow than noce, and I would say it has less orange than noce. The belly really looks like it was dipped in chocolate patent dye (if there was such thing), very unique.

I did too, and I'm relieved that it's much cheerier than the FW catalog (which I thought was really gloomy).

I didn't think I would like any of the colors, but I do--even though I'm not sure any of them are really "me." The chene/nero corded Cabat looks nice, though. And the Knots, too.

Saw Chene at the boutique last week, prefer it over Noce, it's warmer...

The corded Venetas remind me of Flax seed tortilla chips :shrugs:, but I like them ;).

I am loving the vibrant colors from the Cruise catalog too!!! So much for my color ban. ;)

To be clear, are we all referring to the Corda treatment as the "2nd generation nuvolato"? They are quite different IMO... I didn't see any other new, special treatments on the catalog apart from that, the dipped vernice, sfrangiato knots (aka LT's knot) and the printed leather designs.
