Ode to the Victoria

Feeling all the good feels today. Ive been a long time TPF lurker, trying to find the right bag/color/hardware combo. I’m happy to introduce a new-to-me 2015 gold Victoria. This was my second try at the Victoria. It’s been a while since I sold my (first try) étoupe version. I forgot how soft and mushy this bag is! The gold color feels more like me for a neutral than the étoupe did. I love the warmer tone.
Now the real important question: what Hermes bag should be next?!

@mlsv Did you decide what H bag would be next? How’s it been going with your beautiful gold Victoria?

So I pulled the trigger and she is finally here. Definitely a roomy bag, much bigger than any of my other Hermes. Can’t wait to bring her on the next trip. Thank you for letting me share
Yay! Congrats! She looks great on you! Will you only be using as a travel bag? Or do you plan to use as a day bag too?

Thank you!! I have been using her as my work bag. She packs a bunch and still has so much room left. I need to be careful though however as she can get heavy. Otherwise, been enjoying wearing her daily to work 😊
Great choice for a work bag! I know what you mean about packing so much that it gets way too heavy!

My gorgeous Victoria that I am enjoying so much! After receiving her last week, I immediately took her along on a trip to Texas. Fantastic bag for travel, and I’m enjoying her for every day use right now. So glad I went with *blue*!
Yay! Great photo! Such a perfect twilly for this Victoria!
I'm really happy for you on finding such a great H bag for your daily use and your travel. And I'm really glad to learn that you're happy with the color and don't feel boxed in by it.

Thank you so much. I’m really pleased with the color. I adore H twillies and one of the first things I did was look through my collection for a good match.

Sorry if this is not the correct place to post this question! Can someone give me a little tutorial on the Victoria? I’m looking for something less obvious than a birkin or Kelly.. while I love them and appreciate what I’ve collected, I like the understated look. I’ve ordered several Margaux bags by the row but returned because the quality does not compare to Hermes. What sizes and leathers does the Victoria come in?

I have 4 Victoria bags so I'm a little crazy about them. I saw that a YouTuber recently posted a video about her newly arrived Victoria. This video may have some helpful info in it for you. The video is by Ali, titled "This bag is INSANE!!! Unboxing and exploring the Hermes Victoria bag ❤️❤️❤️"

In the meantime here are some quick notes on this bag:
  • Traditionally comes in 3 sizes: 35, 43, 50. Now there is a "Victoria III" in a mini size, as seen above.
  • For leathers, it usually comes in Clemence. I also have one in Evercolor. It also comes in various canvases.
  • Some of the older bags come with a luggage tag. I have heard that the bags with the luggage tags are called "Victoria" while the ones without it are "Victoria II" but I'm not sure if this is true.
  • It has two zippers which meet on the center top of the bag. The zipper pulls can be locked to the center top of the bag.
  • It has 5 feet and a usual stitch pattern on the bottom of the bag. The bottom is padded.
  • The inside is lined in canvas, making it a bit lighter than other leather-lined bags of a similar size. Some linings have a zip pocket while others do not. All linings have slip pockets.
  • The 35cm can be fit on the shoulder (if it's not too stuffed and you're not wearing a thick coat). The larger sizes have shorter handles.
For me I like how versatile this bag is and I love the casual slouchiness. I also love that this bag comes in so many colors. I fell in love with it when I saw a Parisian woman carrying it one rainy December afternoon many years ago in the 6th arr. Such a vivid memory!
I carry mine frequently and no one ever stops me to ask if it's an Hermès bag (which I appreciate). Maybe it's just me, but I strongly dislike talking to strangers about my Hermès bags because it makes me feel very uncomfortable. So the Victoria bag is great for me.
