ode to the TRIM!

Ladies help me out, if you could only own one trim what color would it be? Would you consider orange to be a year round color?

Orange is a year-round color, certainly, so if that appeals and works with your wardrobe, this an orange trim will make you very happy. You might consider a smaller one since orange will make it appear "bigger," if you know what I mean. Regarding linings, placement of Hermès marks, etc.—there are a huge variety of combinations that are authentic. There are threads with a lot of information about this, including this one. I hope you find your dream Trim!

27-year-old Vert Fonce box Trim II (one of the "transitional" ones, with a gusset but no zipper). I love that it sits upright when filled!

Congratulations, Calexandre! Miss Vert Fonce is beautiful. Such a treasure in that gorgeous color, and the size must be perfect for a casual day out. Wear her in good health. I find the Trim with a gusset to be the perfect day bag—I'm betting soon enough you'll be looking for another. They are addictive.

VNSoie would be the person to answer (Calling VNS!), although hers is 43cm. I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but she's indicated that it worked like a dream during her travels in Europe. I've looked at your possible bag, and I think it would hold up brilliantly as a slouchy hobo-esque--but chic--carryall. If you treated it properly (Blackrock and Obernauf's LP), it could go into the rain as well

VnSoie reporting for duty!

My 43 is an awesome size for travel. It is Trim I, no gusset, and Evercalf, and extremely slouchy. I carried her constantly during two weeks in Europe last spring. Light rain was no problem (I had treated with Blackrock, per DocRide--should be mention on her thread). I wasn't bothered, either, by the lack of zip-top, as the bag sits so snugly under my arm.

No experience with Boxcalf at all, sorry. (Someday!) I know another TPFer who recently scored a preloved Clemence Trim II and is very happy, reporting it's super smooshy.

Jadeite, love your barenia Trim I. I'm a huge fan of the no-gusset look.

Calexandre, congrats on your Vert Fonce! Gorgeous!

Prinipessa, the color of my "dream only Trim" would depend on what other bags I have, I guess. My only Trim, which is pretty dreamy, is black. However, I had months of major crush on a raisin Trim (you know who you are!), and thought that would be the only color to satisfy me. Somehow, the bag seems to find you sometimes. Be patient.

Frou Frou, loves, and Arabesques, I have been remiss in not thanking you for the kind words about my Trim a couple of pages back. I truly lucked into her. Arabesques, you know you started my obsession with the Trim!

Sorry, my Trim is Evergrain, not Evercalf.

Arabesques, you are not kidding about the addictiveness factor. This is just the easiest, lightest, most carefree bag-- but still classy, too, and oddly plenty capacious in the 31cm size. I'm already nosing around the web looking at other Trims.... :graucho:

OH MAN...if I didn't have my 43 (identical leather, evergrain, Trim I), I would JUMP on this. JUMP. Like duck on proverbial junebug, as we say down south. Somebody nice PLEASE adopt this bag.

I know, right? I lurve this bag~I was so sad when they "rested" Trims in favor of the Massai Cut. Not that the MC isn't nice, it is. But the Trim is so classy, so polished. I will never forget one of my first times in a Hermes Boutique they had a display of Trims with colored Carmens clipped on each. I fell in love with the Trim then and there. In that way the Trim will always remind me of Hermes, more then a Birkin. And then there is Jackie with hers.....that sealed the deal for me. I think she wore hers for like 20 years and it always looked so right. Okay I am blathering.....

I don't think they're rested, TT. I asked my SA last October, and Trims were in the leather book--at least Trim IIs. They were available in Havane and some blue, can't recall. Blather on, my friend; you know you have a sympatico ear here.

I remember this gorgy pic, enabled me getting it in graphite, thank you ;o)
We are cousins, have barenia toile in Trim ii.

I would have pounced earlier, but am in solitary confinement @ BAN Isle!

Only Trim ii are in production...

Here I am with my Jackie O version. Non gusset. I think the black evergrain would be the same only leather~

Yes Hermes no longer makes the Trim with the no gusset~the one like Jackie's. That is what makes these bags so special and so darn rare. Gahhhhh...
