Hi guys

I only have my darling horn Rocaille Peigne but I hardly ever wear pendants, even necklaces so I need your advice.

My mum ruined her beloved gold lift pendant and has never been able to find a replacement. What do people think of the Dalva? There is a gold one on Europe H.com ATM

Can anyone compare size wise?

and/or

If you have a Lift, would you think Dalvey was a worthy enough comparison gift or would you be hot-footing it down to you local H for a credit note?

Dear papertiger,

So sorry to hear of your mother's ruined Lift pendant! The gold ones were beautiful! I only have Lift pendants, so cannot compare sizes for you, but here's a Link to frou frou's post, showing the Dalva worn. Perhaps that will give you some size reference for comparison.

I love the organic quality to the carving on the Lift. The Dalva certainly has a more modern aesthetic. Does your mother wear other more spare, simple jewelry? Or would any of the colored Lift pendants appeal to her? For reference to the offered/seasonal colors, the US site currently shows a number of the lacquered ones. (I see the EU site only shows two, at present.) Best wishes in finding a replacement!

Personally I love the Dalva more. It's roughly the same size as the Lift GM.

Thanks etoile de mer

My mother is all about the jewellery  and likes many different kinds according to her outfit. She used to wear very modern designs, reminiscent of the Dalva, whilst my father was still alive because he was a Mod, loved everything Italian or Scandinavian in that very bold Modern aesthetic, and so bought her lots of fabulous pieces in that style. Now she tends towards the hand-crafted including Native American, Mexican silver etc (or fine jewellery) so a bit more ornate. I can't see her in any coloured Lifts except perhaps a pink (Tosca too dark).

With what I see so far the big difference is the Lift is flat and can be worn either side and the Dalva is still organic, though thoroughly Modern shape. Personally, I really like it, if I wore pendants I'd be tempted myself LOL.

Thanks so much for the link to Frou Frou's Dalva, I have to say it looks fabulous on her, although my mother's figure is less sylph and more er... more :D

Thanks arabesques, knowing you and Frou Frou have one is certainly a recommendation.

Do you think it's much heavier than the Lift and does the greater depth cause you any problems or to over-think outfits (as in does a coat that normally fits do up when wearing)?

Papertiger, the Dalva is absolutely lightweight—I've never noticed a difference between them in that regard. With the center is thicker than the Lift, it's remains a thin piece. I've never taken notice of that either. It's actually the easiest piece of jewelry I own, hands down.

PT, I have the Dalva too, but do not own a Lift. I think it is one of Hs unique pieces, and love the way the gold tip can be worn either on top or bottom. As you know I also have heavy Native American silver pieces too. I would say that I can wear the Dalva a bit more because of its simplicity and minimal form. If you choose a horn that is deeper hued it would be a rich look even more stunning than the lift IMO. I think your mom would love a gift from her daughter no matter what, if my DD gave me a piece like this I would treasure it. Hugs and what a thoughtful daughter you are my friend.

Here is a quick pic with Dalva and Concours DD shawl that I received for Mothers Day.:hugs:
