Ode to the Evelyne

Hi there, I have found a vintage Evelyne GM in pristine condition for a fairly good price. I'm in Australia and there are hardly any pre loved PM sized bags for sale over here (and I don't have a relationship with the store). The TPMs seem too small for me (and I have a lot of mini bags). Thinking the GM might be the way to go. Anyone have the GM? Pros and Cons? I also have a feeling that larger bags will come back in soon enough. What do you think? Great thread.

If you like big bags, and if the GM is Clemence, I've seen even quite petite people rock a GM. It kind of mooshes to your body. There are a few threads around showing off both the GM and the TGM!

Evelyne in GM is great, it fits so much, is the perfect bag for travel or for a trip into the city and even for a night out in a more casual restaurant. Of course the bag can get kind of heavy if fully packed, but if weight is an issue then I would recommend not buying a leather cross-body bag since even the PM can get heavy if fully packed. I would however make sure that it is in Clemence, it gets even softer with time, is less prone to scratches and as QuelleFromage wrote, it will probably fit snugly to your body.

Just got an Evelyne TPM in Vert Cypress in palladium hardware and thought I'd share (and review):

This is a great bag! Fits a small wallet, phone (I have the iPhone X, I think), keys, spare change, and earphones with room to spare. I wasn't sure about the color (deciding between this and black with gold hardware) but it's been ideal as a neutral that lends a bit more visual contrast.

Much of my wardrobe is black interspersed with saturated colors. I'm sure all of you know this(!) but I also love that the perforations add depth (as opposed to a flat plane). The clemence leather is a bit matte and also adds texture and v and will get softer over time.

I also have a black evelyne PM, which is my workhorse, and use this when I don't need to tote papers, a laptop or a big water bottle around- ideal for short trips like a walk to the park or a visit to the museum where you need something convenient and don't want to be weighed down. I live a pretty casual life (not at the age where I'd be attending a lot of weddings) and I see myself getting a ton of use out of this.

Hope this helps!

You must be petite because I thought that was a PM. When I got the TPM I thought it was so incredibly small!
