Ode to the Evelyne

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well.

I want to share with you some pictures of the Evelyne I purchased the day before the national emergency was declared in Spain.

I was looking for a messenger bag in H. I asked for the Steve bag, but they didn’t have any in the store. My SA showed me the Evelyne 33 and 40. The 40 is HUGE.

I have to admit I would have never asked for an Evelyne at the store. And, though I was very reluctant to get it at the beginning, once I tried it, I changed my mind.

The bag is really beautiful and practical. The leather (Clemence) is delicious.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to show my short strap for my Evie 29. When I was clearing out my closet, I found my old, old Ralph Lauren bag. I noticed that I could take the strap off, and then I got a brilliant idea of using it for my Evie, thanks to the great discussion here! The hardware is in silver and the leather is black - it’s almost perfect for my Evie! (It would be perfect if the stitches were black)

Since the strap is thin and has small clips, I can keep both straps together. I know I have to be careful not to get the hardware scratched.

I recently took a trip with my Evie with both straps. It gets pretty heavy when it’s worn cross-body, especially when I take it out for a trip. On the recent trip, I was using the short one all the time and I love it! It was easier to move around with it.

I didn’t realize that the 40 was still being made. Good to know it’s really big as I’ve been intrigued by that size.

I just ordered my first ever Evelyne from H.com! I managed to find my dream combo; an Evelyne GM/33 in black with GHW. I can't wait to get it!

Which bag inserts do you guys think are the best for the Evelyne? I have searched this thread for suggestions. Some seem to like the inserts from Samorga while others from Senamon. But all posts seem to be from a while back. Any other ideas on good bag inserts for an Evie 33? Thanks!

Btw, as some others have mentioned they seem to be putting Evies TGM/40 in both stores and on H.com. So if any of you are looking for that size, keep an eye out for them! I have seen them both on the US and European H.com.

LOVE it! It is a very classy and elegant combo!

Regarding inserts, I’ve tried Samorga and 7 Rue Paradis. I actually prefer the 7 Rue insert. It seems to fit better in the bag and works better for the things I carry. There are some other options I believe on Etsy as well. Instagram has some too I think. Can’t wait to see pix of you with your fabulous new bag!

How much did you pay for the insert? I looked at the homepage of 7 rue paradis and they want 475 Euros for the insert Evelyne GM . For me it is a ridiculous price, that I would never pay.

Yes they are expensive but sometimes there is . a discount code code you can use.

I use the inserts from Senamon for both my 29 and TPM. I have found the quality and colour choice excellent so far, and the delivery was speedy.

I use MaiTai’s inserts in my Evelynes. They are more expensive than Senamon but much less than 7 Rue Paradis. I love them because they are exceptionally well-made, and give me much needed pockets inside my Evies. They are not very structured, which I like because I like the Clemence leather to stay soft and mold to my hip, but if you want a very structured organizer, these won’t be for you.

Hi, I'm a petite 5'1 and have a PM. I think the PM overwhelms me and wish H made a size between PM and TPM. Here's a pic with my PM and a Maxi twilly scarf as the strap. Forgot to answer your question, I think you should probably avoid the GM.
