Ode to the Evelyne

On the Hermes website, this beauty is listed as etoupe/indigo, but it looks like it has tonal stitching instead of white, which I thought is always the case with etoupe. It sold out right away, of course! Does anyone own an etoupe Evelyne with tonal stitching?

I've travelled with my Evie Sellier quite a bit - most recently a couple weeks in Italy touring Rome, Naples, Capri and the Amalfi coast, so a mix of airports, public transport, busy cities, boats and others and I was totally fine.

I'm used to living in a big city so am always aware of my belongings and keep a hand over my bag, so things would neither fall out nor be easily pick-pocketed.

For Hawaii my only concern would be sand and sea water if you're planning to go beachside with it.
Thank you FreddieMac! Your answer is really helpful to a newbie like me. I try to use the bag in the good health.

Thanks for reminding me about the sand, sea water, humidity and maybe rain in Hawaii! I think I will stick to my old bag for this trip.

I noticed something similar on the website’s listings of compact Bearn wallets. They have an etoupe with tonal stitching and an etain with white stitching...?! Since their website is generally unreliable, I have no idea if that is actually how they would arrive. Would love to see pics on someone that owns any of these ratites.

Just bought this exact Evie at the Milan store. It’s regular contrast stitching, unfortunately. The bag is gorgeous, but I would love to have it with tonal stitch. They also had Gris Etain, but with matching straps and PHW.

I noticed within Evelyne lovers there has always been a debate in how to wear the bag . As probably that the perforated H , should be worn facing your body . But I guess Hermes is changing that . What do you think ?
Since this is the same web site that persists in displaying scarves by draping them over their models heads so they look like well dressed pirates, I tend to take their how to wear things displays with a grain of salt:biggrin:

My first cynical thought was that this might be a small nod by H to the logomania trend — a message to those who like their logos on display that this is a way to do it with Hermes. But really, wear it whichever way you want!

I do not have a suggestion, but I would like to say that I do not like the adjustable straps....too much going on with all that metal. I have several older Evelynes with non adjustable straps which are lighter. You could have a custom strap made by Hermes without the extra hardware to adjust it with and have it made the exact length you want.
My older Evelynes do not hang down as low as many are wearing them with the adjustable strap.
You can also buy some nice after market canvas straps from mautto.
