I'll tell again as it's been some time the story of my Evie disaster:
I was on a business trip to Mexico, on a plane in a bulkhead seat, with my black Clemence PM Evie on the floor in front of me. All of a sudden I, and the entire first row, had our feet in a PUDDLE! The galley had sprung some kind of leak, it came through the walls, and rows 1 and 2 were an inch deep in gray yucky water!!!
Cut to the chase, we all got paper towels and blotted our things, etc. (thank GOODNESS it was just freezer water, OMG) but my bag was SOAKED completely through. I could have wrung it out.
I had TWO MORE HOURS of flight time and then probably 45 going through customs - literally dripping water out of my bag - AND a 90 minute drive from Cancun to Tulum. By the time I checked into my hotel the bag had been soaking wet for more than five hours and much of the time had things in it, because I had nowhere else to put them.
I laid the bag down on a towel flat and let it dry overnight.
My scarf (not H) that was in the bag - ruined. My Sombrero Ulysse that was in the bag - pretty ragged looking. My Evie? At most, the items in the pocket might have stretched it a tiny bit. Now, this is a black bag, and yucky not-clean water might have hurt a light bag, but the water itself did not hurt the bag one bit. This was at least 3-4 years ago and the Evie is still going strong.
Clemence is seriously ok with water
