I've been using my PM III daily since I got it a few weeks ago and have had, on 2 occasions, the strap unclasp. Both times its occurred was when I've stood up from a sitting position! I don't know how this could be happening and wondered if it's happened to anyone else? The lobster claw clasp doesn't appear to be lose nor is it that stiff! I should probably test it out with another in the boutique.

I have had an Evelyne strap unclasp twice....very unsettling. Happened just the other day with a packed PM size. I saw that I had somehow touched the clip when I picked the bag up and it was pushed in as I lifted bag.....hard to explain.
The old Evelyn clasps would not do this. This old style clasp sometimes broke and this must be why Hermes changed it. I wonder why Hermes does not use the type they are putting on the new unique woven straps.

Hi Golconda, thanks for your reply and yes it's very unsettling. I am wondering too how I would have inadvertently pushed the clip enough for it to unclasp entirely too. The clip definitely needs to be stiffer.

Exactly the same thing happened to me with my Evelyne III 29, labb8. And I can't explain why it happened either because just as you mentioned, the clasp doesn't appear to be lose. Now I pay a lot of attention every time I carry her.

The same thing has happened to me, also when I am getting up from a sitting position. I must be pressing on the clasp somehow, but I have no idea how or at what point this occurs. I just try and be more careful now that I know this happens.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like this is a common occurrence. Hmmmm....not sure I'm liking this. I baby my bags and I'd hate for it to come off and get scratched/damaged! Wonder if there is anything H can do?

I have thought that it wasmore secure to have the part that moves turned toward the inside of the bag, but this is how it was fastened when it opened. I am going to turn clasps with part that moves on outside and see if that is better. Hope I am making sense
