Purchased this colourway in store yesterday after looking online and thinking the UV was for me. The cobalt was so much better in real life and won me over.

I too was not fond of the yellow horseshoe but was stoked to see it can be hidden or kept away from my pale face. :p
It's summer here so will be waiting a couple of months to really try it.

citrus - thanks so much for weighing in. yes, the yellow near my face would be a problem for me too as i am pale with pink undertone with dark hair/dark features.. still stewing on it....blue shawls seem to be my weakness though....

If anyone is flying overseas from San Francisco, the H shop in the duty free Galleria store in the international terminal had four cws of the CSMC shawl this past Thursday--the navy blue, the crevette, the orange/grey and the purplish/black/white. I was surprised they had such an in-demand shawl still on hand.

I fell in love with this shawl from studying this thread. But there were only two CW left on the US site by the time I came across it. I hesitated for a long time and finally asked my SA to bring one into the store. She said that she could only locate cw 12 (there are pics in post #943 by Chanel, #512 by Mrs. Rance). My preferences were 09 or 07...
I brought it home with me, but still not sure if I should keep it. I only have two shawls and not one in this cw, but part of me feels this shawl should be more colorful. What do you think? Shall I keep it or wait for the design to be brought back in the future?

^^Hi Kitty, congrats on your new CSMC shawl! We are twins as I have both CW 12 and 7 and love them both equally. CW 12 is a fabulous, yet quiet and rather sophisticated neutral that I like wearing with my tan and black Burberry trenches. 7 and 9 are certainly more fun and vibrant though. Do you want or need a neutral in your collection? Or, were you hoping for something more fun? I love neutrals so 12 had to come home with me. I also intend to get the Zebra Pegasus in the noir, natural CW 16. If your budget allows, keep 12 and go colorful in Zebra Pegasus. Or return 12 and get a vibrant Zebra instead! Can't go wrong either way as they are all so lovely. Good luck deciding!

It's hard to say if H is going to bring back this design in a CSGM again, and if so, may not happen for many years as it'll be the 3rd run.
I love the neutral cw but I'm a neutral fan. If you don't love it or can't make it work with your wardrobe I'd take it back and try to get the cws you want on the resale market if the boutique is out of the question.

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I am not looking for a fun or neutral shawl in particular. I fell in love with the pattern/design more than anything else. This is only my third shawl, so having a neutral would add to my collection. It's just that I instinctively feel that the scarves on the cheval should be colorful... It's kind of silly. I don't even know if other cw would work for me- many times I became obsessive with the pic of a scarf and only to find out that it didn't work for me when I tried it on. I wish I could have tried on other cw to know for sure.

I can use a neutral in my collection, since the fall shawls will likely be colorful for me (although haven't quite decide on the zebra Pegasus...), it's more like it doesn't feel quite right to have a neutral in this design. Somehow I have this preconceived notion of what it should be. Is that weird? I am afraid to go for the reseller route bc as I can't try it on first. I will have to keep it or let it go forever if H doesn't bring it back again...

Not weird at all! Buy what you love, if it's not something you truly adore then I'd return it. There are so many fabulous designs and cws that after a while you begin to cull the ones in your collection that don't thrill you.
There'll be plenty of opportunity to get other neutrals if this neutral is not floating your boat in the CSMC design.
