Have you tried this velvet brush technique, BritAbroad? Seems perhaps the safest option.

None of my GMs have fuzzies, yet, etouile de mer. I'm guilty of not wearing each more than once or twice and some not at all. I'll try out Chantal's velvet brush though when I'll inevitably need to.
I agree, it seems the safer, more enduring route

BritAbroad - Yes, seems less likely to create new issues!

I also bought this brush from Jcrew.com today. Will report back on how it works.

MYH - I own one of these, and use it to brush cashmere coats and blazers. I'm a big fan of The Laundress products! :smile1: I'd forgotten they sell some of their things at J Crew. Will be interested to hear how you feel it works for CSGMs. I do wonder if the bristles are a bit too stiff for the delicate weave.

Finally I got my 4th shawl of this winter. The Clic Clac CW08. However, I am just wondering why the tag is in white. All my 90cm and 140cm have brown tags. Does anyone have the same shawl of Clic Clac 08 has the same white tag?ImageUploadedByPurseForum1389670780.617019.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1389670796.512189.jpg

Trying to gin up some love for the Missing Horse!
Technically not a GM, these are 100cm.
Just acquired my second today, so I'm pairing them up for a 200cm
A TGM, of sorts! More pics in the fall thread

Gang - how do you remove the pilly stuff on your CSGMs? I think its time I try to remove some off my shawls.

I have a velvet brush, exactly the one shown on Maitai's blog. My honest opinion is that we stay away from it. It's good for lint-removal and brushing pilling from 2-ply cashmere or thick sweaters, but not fabric that is one-ply like our shawls. Even though it does the work without causing immediate pulls, it causes the thread structure to move from its original location, hence makes more pull-prone afterwards.
I had tried the velvet brush on my Coaching shawl. It worked but I was very nervous when I saw the threads being stretched. So, your call :smile1:. I myself prefer pilling over pulls.
I am personally over the period when I'm bothered by pilling after wears. My workhorse Coaching has much pilling in the center, but I'm gonna let the pilling ball up and fall off then.

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences, Chestnutty!
