Ode to the bolide

I hope the 4th time is a charm. Been searching over the years and trying different colors of the Mou style from Tosca, Rouge Casque and Turquoise, I think I finally found a color that would work ! Gold with GHW!
Working from home means a short commute from my closet to the home office downstairs. I’ll take her to work daily so I can enjoy her in the interim.

After five years of looking (and drooling over) Bolides on TPF and IG, I think I’m going to get one, but I’m debating which size. I’m 5’10 and a size 12 (m/l). Would a 27 look like a child’s bag handheld against my frame? I don’t carry much, so would a 31 get floppy? For reference- I have a GP30 that looks great (size-wise) carried by hand, but it’s almost empty.

I'm not a small bag person but buy whatever you like best and is more functional for you, if you don't carry much then a small bag is fine, even if you're tall.

I think your height would be fine with a 27. The 30 1923 is more rigide than a 31 if you are concerned about flop.

I am hoping some of you can answer a few questions. I am wanting a Bo27, but my only concern is that I don’t have much experience with epsom except for a Prada wallet 15 years ago. It’s a beautiful leather and the Bo27‘s on this thread are . I am wondering, when it comes to the zipper opening- how stiff is it and will it soften a bit over time? Does it dent easily if it gets bumped or if something pokes it a little inside the bag? Thank you for any info you can give!

The B27‘s zipper is quite tough to open in the beginning which is also influenced by the handle placement. However, it will get easier quickly and I wouldn’t call it stiff. It’s just a matter of getting used to it. I haven’t experienced my Epsom Bolides denting at all. They still looked new after months and the Epsom is structured and sturdy enough to handle bumps or things poking against it from the inside. It doesn’t deform easily, only if stored improperly. I highly recommend it if you prefer the structured Bolide look. Only 2 things to be aware of - 1. you need to be careful not bumping the corners. I never managed to (as they are so rounded) but have seen used Bolides with scratched corners. 2. As the inside is lined in lamb, I recommend getting a bag organizer/liner as the inside can look beat up pretty quickly with indents.

The B27 simply is a wonderful, versatile, well-made, low-key bag.
