Thanks Nymeria, I've wanted a bag in PP for ever: I found this on therealreal and jumped on it!

Thanks Papertiger, I know you have her twin:drinks:!

I'm glad I decided to order this strap: I was skeptical and worried about Customs fees since it comes from Hong Kong, but after reading many positive comments I decide to risk it. It took 1 1/2 months to arrive but it did eventually, phew....and no customs fees! I have ordered another one......

Hello. I'm interested in adding a Bolide to my collection. I have been a Chanel collector, and this will be my first Hermes purchase. Will I be able to purchase a Bolide (or Evelyne) on my first visit to a store? Are only the Birkin & Kelly the only bags that need to be offered and require building a profile? Am I better to get a bag online or will I be able to make these types of purchases on my first visit? Sorry for so many questions! For context, I'll be visiting the Chicago store (after they reopen). Thanks all for the input.

While they often have Bolides on-line, I would recommend checking the store first. That way you can see the bag in person so that you are 100% sure. Plus, you can meet an SA and start building your profile immediately (you just might get the H addiction like the rest of us). AND get the in-store unboxing experience.

My first in-store purchase ever was a Bolide. They had both PHW and GHW in black and my local store is on the smaller side. Maybe call the store first to check the Chicago inventory? It shouldn’t be a problem to buy either of these bags on your first visit if they are in stock. Birkin/Kelly/Constance are the more difficult bags to get.

I had been shopping H.com prior to that and got an Evelyn PM and a few minor things. I wish I had gotten the Evelyne in-store for my profile, but it was during lockdown and I had never set foot in an Hèrmes. Now it’s my happy place.

I find it’s really personal preference. Clemence will definitely slouch to a greater or lesser degree depending on the individual skin. I love the slouch but others prefer a more structured bag and if you are among them you might be happier with another leather choice.
As has been recommended throughout this forum, hold out for the bag you really want; mistakes can be expensive.

I just got my bolide in clemence leather so I can't comment on the slouchiness yet but I love how the bag looks and the leather is so soft. I don't like it when bags get too slouchy though so I do have a bag pouch for it and will like buy an insert when I use it. did you ending up getting it??

I love bolide 31s, I do like the casualness that Clemence offers but I do utilize an insert in mine. I use mai tai linen inserts which given the material does not offer a lot of structure but enough for me. Good luck deciding as that blue is beautiful.

Thank you for your advices.
You are definitely right, one has to get the bag one really wants...so I hesitated, although I really loved the Deep Blue color - they reserved it for me. (I would have to wait anyway, because they had it in the display in store.)
Now I'm sure about it and so looking forward to get it - will be there next week.
Will use ist with a Samorga organizer - as all my bags.

May I ask which insert you are planning to get? The only one I see for the bolide is from Samorga.
