i thought gulliver and swift are the same leather. it used to be called gulliver a decade ago, not sure of the quality differences between them or if there are, and anyways changed to named swift

As far as I know that is true. There is a thread comparing gulliver to swift and it seemed people were more impressed with gulliver, it seemed a thicker, stronger leather although the corner wear seemed to be less on swift. Anyway, since I do not have both and my bag was produced kind off when the leathers changed I was wondering if there was a way to tell the difference. I like my bag and am fine with either. I am just curious and I like the experts discussions.

Different. Swift is a lot more buttery, gulliver slightly more matte. And gulliver stands. Really stands. Because it's much thicker.
