can anyone advice if the silver rings can be worn every day without getting tarnished quickly , I would like to possibly get maybe a small style ring for everyday wear but not sure how it would hold up my other silver bits I just wear going out

My problem with H silver rings is not tarnishing, it’s how easily they get dinged up. My Lima ring got so bad I had to send it to Spa for polishing ... they did a great job and the ring came back looking new, but I know it’s only a matter of time before it looks bad again. I used to wear it almost every day, but now I hesitate. I have a chain d’encre enchainee ring as well and it’s also getting damaged. I have other silver rings from other brands and they are not nearly this bad. I love the rings I have, but wouldn’t have bought them if I’d known how soft the silver is.

I agree with @catsinthebag. I love my H ring - its beautiful and stands out on my hand. However, I haven't had it that long and it's already scratched up. It may be the design - I have the large echappee ring and the top sticks out a lot. If I had a 'flatter' ring like osmose or eclipse, perhaps it wouldn't get as damaged.

Sorry to year you’re already getting scratches on your ring. Both my H rings are pretty flat and have dings and scratches. My Chain D’Encre Enchainee ring is especially damaged on the inside/palm side. I think it just gets marks every time the palm of my hand comes into contact with a hard surface. Maybe I’m hard on rings, but other non-H rings I have don’t have nearly this level of wear.

Mine is 6.5 with the toggle. I have this bracelet and my wrist is tiny - about 5 inches around. The bracelet is big on me but I knew that when I bought it as almost every bracelet I buy is huge on me. However, I wear it stacked with other bracelets and it works.
Thank you so much! This is so helpful for me!

You are welcome! Btw I’m paranoid about the bracelet falling off which is why you see a safety pin at the end. It’s also helps if /when I want to wear it close to the wrist. It’s not ideal but my wrists are so tiny that unless I take links out, no bracelets ever truly fit me!

I love the chain D’encre ring but it’s such a shame that it’s so easily damaged. The silver is nice and heavy so it’s surprising that it’s so delicate. I also have non H rings that don’t get dinged as much. I wonder if it’s because H rings are so shiny - the other rings I have seem ‘dull’ in comparison but show less wear.

Just to clarify, I have the Ever Chaine D’andre ring, which is less substantial than some of the other
chain D’ancre pieces. And the Lima ring, which got really dinged up. I love them both but now hesitate to wear them because the silver seems so soft.

I have the same thougts although my bracelet is not here yet. I saw the pin on your's and I know what it was
I had an idea: My best friend bought a knot bracelet by bv and it was too large. We secured it with a mini silicone hair tie in black. It is just 1cm and super tensile. As her bracelet is black you just cant see it. She is so happy!
I will try something like this with clear ties on the farandole. It won't be as optimal as on the knot bracelet but I think it could be quite unobstrusive.Screenshot_20190902-225205~01.png

Silver is a soft metal. Silver gets scratched in use. After some time the scratches evidently accumulate into a soft glow that's considered a patina. I like silver with a shine that's practically mirror-like. I did have some of my H pieces polished by a local jeweler. They looked heavenly. And then they began getting scratched again. It's not damage.

Notice that on ebay sellers of silver jewelry say the item could be polished by the owner. That might mean a buff-over with a tarnish-removal cloth or a machine polish maybe using jeweler's rouge. Scratches mean the item's been worn but not worn out. If scratches imply damage the sellers would have to disclose it as such. Gemstones get scratched, too, especially if worn every day, and if they're not as hard as diamonds, rubies or sapphire. The solution is to get the stone repolished.

It might be too visible but it's possible a fine (narrow) safety chain put on by a jeweler might work. But if your silicone tie works it sounds good.

I am always fretting about safety chains on cuffs (which is not a conventional place to wear them) and bracelets so your post resonated with me.

Does any one think the silver for the rings have changed not for the better from years ago since now they don't seem to be lasting as good as years ago
I agree the quality has gone down. Not just rings but sterling silver jewelry in general. The pieces I bought like 10 years ago never tarnishes. Whereas the ones I bought in recent years tarnish within months. I shared my observation with my SA and she kind of agree. I agree with the scratches but that is unavoidable specially with rings.

My 1st piece of H silver, Croisette ring in GM.
I noticed a stamp on the 'outer ring' (not the inside of the ring where 'Hermes' and size is visible), but it is so small, I couldn't make out what it is.
Could anyone please kindly share your knowledge with me?

It's probably the silver content and it's probably also signed Hermes. There may also be a country symbol to indicate it was manufactured in France. If you bop into a jewelry store they can use a loupe (a jeweler's magnifying glass) to tell you what it says. And, they can give you the loupe to see for yourself. (Looking at ring gemstones through a loupe is really trippy. You should ask to do that, too. That allows you to look inside the gemstone. .
