Yeah! You got it! Is it as beautiful as you hoped?

I was planning on talking a bit about the little bells. From what I know, this is some kind of exotic stop. It doesn't exist on all organs, and is mostly found on german organs.
I found a video with a stop similar to that, although it's not really bells: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1ianrMfr6s

I've also seen an organ with a stop consisting of little pipes ending in water. They made the sound of a bird. Not really useful, but funny.

It's even more beautiful than I had hoped! I could wear it every day for a week, and it would look different each day! Tomorrow I'll wear it again, this time with a light blue denim shirt over a white tee. I think it will be smashing!

That's very interesting information about the bells. Today I discovered that if I pay attention to where I make my fold, I can get the little bells to appear on one tail!;) See how much fun I'm having?

It's gorgeous!!!! Looks wonderful on you!

Thank you, birdonce!

Beautiful! Congrats!

Thank you, rainne!

Congratulations! Its a beuatiful colour on you and I love how you've tied it.:smile1:

Thank you so much, canuck! I hope you get the scarf you've been waiting for very soon!

Congratulations, dear Elaine!! SO charming on you!! I must admitt, it is simple, pretty cw!! I can hear the sound of woodwind instruments(pipes? should I say) from your scarf,Elaine!

What a lovely thought, dear cherryblossum... now I will think of the woodwinds when I knot the scarf!:smile1:

The contrast hem is amazing! Congrats, Elaine!!

Thank you, moma... I hadn't realized how much I would like the contrast hem, but it really makes the scarf pop!

This is wonderful, Elaine! Congratulations! You really have a great talent for displaying the beauties within the scarf with your ties. Are the colors even richer IRL?

Thank you, mm; I'm still learning all the different ways to tie this, and I'll bet there are at least twenty! (melora knows them all, I am sure!:smile1:) The colors are definitely richer IRL. I don't have a perfect place to photograph scarves in my house, plus (as we all know!) the iPhone camera isn't the best. But I don't feel like schlepping out my Nikon just for scarf selfies!

I'll be glad to! Here it is, though it's a little "off kilter." I was standing on a ladder, and holding my iPhone over the center of the scarf, but it still keystoned a bit.

Does anyone know the trick for photographing an Hermes scarf so it comes out square, short of (eek!) tacking it to the wall?:p

Thank you so much! I think you did a great job with the photo. This CW is just gorgeous! Congrats to you - wear it in the best of health!

Hi ladies!
MYH showed us that the "asymetric fold", turned a little bit, looks like a small cowboy knot. What's more interesting about this knot is that it allows to highlight the middle of one side.
Here, I manage to show both the stop knobs and the organ player :)

Well done, melora! And how pretty that CW looks against your dotted top. Happy Monday!

I suspect you are not the only one, GG... melora's wonderful thread will probably create a flurry of interest in this carré! I know that I bought mine from reading its "story" here, and I'll bet I'm not the only one.:giggles: But until this thread, I hadn't even known this scarf existed!

I am sure there are quite a few of us searching now:graucho:

My new Point d'Orgue arrived today, and I simply had to post a couple of model shots!

The first one is in honor of our dear melora, who knots her PdO this way all the time, so that le petit homme is in the center of the knot. It is very easy to do... just knot it like a man's tie! (You can see the close-up of the organist in the second photo.)

But it was a warm day on the coast today, so after I took the picture I loosened the scarf, gave it a slight twist, put a knot towards the bottom, and just draped it around my neck. (I will admit, I used Mai Tai's "magnets" trick to keep the knot from sliding back down to the center!;))

You can see from the third picture that I have not removed the care tag yet, but I will do that tomorrow. I store each care tag in its own little envelope, labeled with the name of the scarf.

The last picture shows the upper right corner of the scarf... a series of lovely little bells. Melora, I don't believe you have told us about these. Do all pipe organs have bells? Where are they located? How are they "played"?

I LOVE it one you Elaine! What a gorgeous CW, enjoy:D
