Think this is my favourite way just now for tying my 90s. By tying at the back in a triangle then tying the two bits at the front it gives loads of material at the front to show off pattern and colour......a definite bonus with Samourai! I think it almost looks like a 140.
With regards to stiffness I have to say that this one (black) is nowhere near as stiff as my orange one. The orange one has a completely different feel to it and is much scrunchier.

Dear Litchi: I have been in a daze working 20 hours days preparing for and executing the liquidation of the household of my beloved Mother. Fortunately went off very successfully this weekend. Came out of my daze and realized I was very close to losing opportunities to purchase a Zeta. Fortunately, when I reached out to Seattle, they still had one of the desired CW 11. Light blue border with red center. SA said lovely. It will be coming early next week and I am hoping to take true to color images as well as of the promised CW 4. They are still waiting to receive their CW 3 and CW 8 so I have a real good chance of completing my Samourais family. Realize I am going to have to make a rule about multiple CW's.

What effects the Saturation on the Samourais? It seems if all have the same number of colors that the stiffness would be the same on all. Am interested in learning about this.
Hi lynn, I was just making an "educated guess" by thinking the more colours a scarf has, the greater the probability of it having a stiffer feel. But I am not an expert! :giggle: CW 03 only has grey, yellow and some black, unlike the multi coloured cw 13.

I will repeat a little tidbit of information I got from my friend, department manager in Seattle. The reason for the stiffness and the difference in color between front and back is due to the complexity of the design. It uses 46 colors. Which means color is added 46 times. The normal scarves are 22 to 24. The wild popularity of this scarf is so tied to the complexity of the colors.
Thanks very much for passing along that information lynn1955! It really is an extraordinary design, and I can just imagine how stunning it will be as a CSGM

I am not sure if I understood correctly but I am sorry to hear about your beloved mother, dear lynn. There must have been very little time and so many things to attend to; you should take care please.

A small wish for your happiness with your Zeta. And did you say you have a good chance at a complete set of Samourais scarves? Oh, my!

I'm also no expert but from what I understand it is downsizing that makes the silk stiff. My 08 is also stiff ..maybe whoever applied the sizing for 08 and 05 has a heavy hand. As to the number of colors that is amazing but I don't think they are screened one at a time..I'm still disappointed with the lack of saturation at the backside..laser printing? I have my Ailes de la Soie from 2014 and the underside is saturated with color like the older scarves. But the debate on laser printing is on another topic and thread.
