Liness92, I love this so much!
I hope you don't mind me asking, do you know the approximate price of this hanging set?

Hope you don't mind my jumping in here. I was told that they are just under the price of a 90cm silk. Of course, that price will vary by country.

I like the idea of being able to enjoy a scarf by looking at it on the wall, and wth the added benefit that perhaps it will naturally "iron" out any wrinkles over time!

liness92 THANK you so much for starting this thread.:heart::heart:
I saw the orange box with the Fixation one or two times here in the forum and had some chats about it with my SA (which didn't recommend it without mirror and light in the back - haha) but never a real life action shot. I am so thankful that you post your "daily" scarf hangings here.
...and can't wait to see MaiTai's and maybe some more.

I have one question: Would you recommend for 70 scarfs?
I have a lot more Vintage Style Scarfs (for now ;) ) than 90 Carrés.
Or do you think the silk is too thin?

VanMiracle - what a great question! I didn't even think of the 70cm scarves! You are brilliant.

Perhaps if they sold the magnet "links" in a longer version that would also work for a 70 cm scarf along with the 90cm that they currently sell in the box. That way, one wouldn't have to have two sets of holes in the wall.

Lighting the scarf
If you want to light the scarf as seen in the store, I guess you could get a back light at a hardware store or speciality lamp store. I have a ceiling lamp I can angle (came with the house and now I have a use for it) like a spot light and that works to. I can try taking a picture tonight and post it so you can have and idea (I might change the scarf as the children are asking to put up some of their favourites, which don't go with the room. But no one is coming over so I'll likely do it. Stay tuned!!!)

Can it work with Vintage Scarves?
I guess you could do it with 70 cm scarves. You will have to recalculate the dimensions as the template is designed for 90 cm. For a 90 cm scarf, the posts are mounted into the wall at a equal distance from each other of 105 cm (15 cm longer than the 90 cm scarf). So, the width is 105 cm across and the length is 105 cm down. Looking at it, I suspect it would be easy to calculate for 70 cm. So, yes I can see that it would work.

Pricing
The pricing in Canada is slightly higher than a 90 cm scarf. It was $450 before taxes.

Suzie, my store just got a shipment in. I'd call your Sydney store and find out if or when they are expecting their shipment. They are around. I remember Mrssparkles revealing this product last summer and I inquired at my store back then. It's taken about six months for the supply to arrive here.

Liness92 - what a swete thought, to hang the children's art work or some such!

This is such a smart thing for Hermes to sell. I, for one, have fallen for scarves when I knew they would not look very good on me to wear, but I couldn't help it - I had to buy them! Now I can claim they were for the wall!

Although I will have to find the right spot. Also, I would be afraid of strong sunlight hitting the scarf for hours on end. I've never noticed any scarf to fade from sunlight, but I just want to make sure!

MaiT, I'm concerned about fading as well. But my scarves hang away from direct light. There were other walls in the house that would suit the Fixation. But we decided against them because they either had too much direct sunlight (fading) or little hands could touch the scarves and play with the springs that attach the scarf to the wall plug; turning the device into a toy.

******

Here is the scarf the children picked out tonight, for the night photo. They did pick a light-coloured one, this is Rencontre Oceane.

liness92:tup: Rencontre Oceane looks lovely on the wall.

Thank you for all the detailed information.

What I was wondering about the 70 was not that much to manage to recalculate the dimensions but the much thinner silk of the 70s compared to the 90s.

I am allready searching for a white, plain wall that seems to look naked without scarf!:roflmfao:

DH looked like :wtf::nuts: , when he haerd there is a thread about the importance of a Fixation.
I have time..

Van, I tried the magnets on a Vintage scarf. I couldn't hang it as mine is set up for a 90 cm scarf. So I put two magnets on and pulled a bit and honestly, I quickly let go. The fabrication is much thinner and the corners didn't have the strength like the thicker woven 90 cm. Personally, after seeing this for about a second, I wouldn't hang a Vintage. But why don't you try the Fixation out in the store with one of their scarves.
