Who needs painting when you have hermescarf that is very much like modern art ?

One of the highlight of my collection, this whimsical & oh so charming doodle is “Les Confessions” by flavia zorrilladrago issued in fall2015 .

It was love at first sight ! I missed it when it was first issued and every where I travel I always in the look for it, until I finally found!

This white colour is in my opinion the best of the whole colourways !

After getting this Scarf hanging system fixation kit from Hermès it’s just so easy to display Hermes scarves as wall art.

It makes it so convenient to rotate them on weekly basis or whenever you feel like it!

Shown here is “Jungle Love Tatouage” in white & navy. A fresh update of the classic “Jungle Love” by Robert Dallet first issued in 2000.

Today is Scarf Wednesday ! Here comes the Sun! As much as I like rich & colourful design, simple design can be as stunning as well!

Here is “Soleil” in navy & white by Fred Rawyler issued in 2003. It means "sun" in french. It has a japanese feeling akin of Japanese flag to me.

When placed in a room, the concentric design will just command the attention by drawing the eye to its centre!

Cross-posting with the scarf display thread:

So it seems that I have ‘taken one for the team’ here.

DH loved the 90cm scarf display so much he suggested I purchase another to display 140s.

The instruction booklet includes hanging dimensions for both 90s and 140s - although I have never seen a 140 displayed with the H system.

Guess what? There’s a reason for that.

I used the same handyman to hang both, but whereas the 90 setup took no time, the 140 took an hour.

It seems that all H did was extrapolate the dimensions for hanging a 140. But the actual materials require a stronger design. Each time I tried to hang the 140, either the magnets would slide off or the coil broke. We broke three coils before I gave up on using them. We tried moving the anchors too, to places where the 140 would display as flat as possible without losing a coil/magnet (the suggested dimensions did not work).

The problem is that the tension required to hang a 140 evenly between the anchors is much stronger than that needed for a 90. So the system needs stronger coils. This is a huge design flaw on H’s part and I plan to let them know!

I did find an easy workaround, though - gray hairbands. The thicker version (the thin ones stretch out too much to provide sufficient tension). Not thrilled with this outcome, but I paid $600+ for this and I didn’t want to look at plain anchors on my wall!

Thanks for sharing this. It looks amazing on your wall, sad to know that H did not calculate correctly for tension for larger formats. Your lalbhai looks amazing on the wall! The hairband fix was ingenious!! :flowers:

I wonder if it's a quality control issue? We actually had the same problem when we first put up the system with a 90. The coil didn't break but the magnet kept sliding off. It was quite nerve-racking because it was above our bed. I was nervous that we would get attacked when we're sleeping. I forgot what exactly we did. Hubby was in charge. We might have held the magnets for a while or slightly adjusted the distance as well. Eventually it stayed. I actually almost got another set earlier this year to hang the 140 panthera pardus. Poor memory! Your post reminded me. What I've noticed with the fixation is that the scarf often sags a bit on the lower part, even those in store. Some are more obvious than others. Our store uses the fixation for 70, 90, and 140, though I can't comment on how well they do it. They're hung so high that you can't see well. I have to admit though, even though it was quite a PITA hanging it up and the sagging thing kind of bothers me, I somehow still want to get more in the future. I really like how the result looks so clean and approachable.

Thank you! I bought a hanging system a few months ago and initially wanted to hang a 140 cm scarf- but really: no way. Changed to 90 cm, then. So it has something to do with the system.

I just picked this up yesterday, SO and I plan to hang it today. I'm so excited!

It looks like to hang it, you need a level, patience, a drill, drywall anchors if applicable, a measuring tape, and some sort of right-angle measure. SO tells me the hard part will be hanging four corners of a square so they are actually a square... he mentioned something about diagonal lines being an easier way to do it.... really not sure but I'll post detailed instructions once we get it up.
Help!
I lost the instuction bookket!
Can somebody tell me the easiest way how to install!
TIA

Eek cavalla, we had the exact same problem, which is to say 3 quality issues from H.
1. 90 cm scarves don’t measure 90 cm!!! Old or new, all of mine measure about 87.5 cm, which means their measurements on that teeny card will be too big for where the posts get installed (and they are). I got all my scarves from boutiques or on h.com.
2. The magnets are nowhere near strong enough to put tension on all four corners, they fly off.
3. The elastic coil flew off and apart on 3 of 5 they include, on the first attempt at using them, horrible quality! Pictures below.

Needless to say I am upset and disappointed. For $600 these small pieces of hardware should be flawless. Even if I move the posts, I will have to resort to hair elastics, (thank you BBC!). The H system looks beautiful, it doesn’t work! I’ve left my scarf on the top two posts, with the other two magnets just attached to the bottom of my scarf without the coil to weight the scarf so it doesn’t hang funny until I hear back from H. I will be hanging a different scarf, this was my test scarf as it has a snag, jic the hanging process didn’t work. I will keep my fellow scarf displayers posted! :amazed:

Elle tee, see my post above, their little booklet has wrong measurements! I used an old broomstick, measured exactly what they said, 41.3”, used tape to mark exact spots for the post holes, and my DH and I used that and a level to get all four posts installed. Unfortunately there were multiple issues. I expect you might want to wait or recalculate measurements based on what your scarf actually measures! What a shame, it looks really cool if it worked!

I need to take a picture of this, but I was shocked to see in the boutique yesterday that they actually had to get a piece specially made to attach to the top of a 140 for hanging from the fixation. Are you kidding??? How are we supposed to use it, then? (Actually I’m used to mine sagging a little bit)
