Scarves Framing a Hermes Scarf

I love the idea of framing my favourite silks! I'll have to find a good framer first though..
Ladybaga, did you frame it yourself?

Hi Maggy!
My husband and I found a framer who does museum pieces. (I told him that I wanted it to "float".) I wanted a more contemporary look so that the scarf could be the main focus instead of a mat or busy frame. He said it was the hardest thing he had ever done.

The scarf was actually a surprise Valentine's gift from my husband. We felt that the full details in Pani would show better framed, than worn.:wondering
Happy for the wall, sad for me. Anyway, I love the CenC because at least that way I can have a sliver of Pani around my neck.:D

What a lovely DH you have! It's a fabulous scarf for sure :)

Just wondering for those who have professionally framed their scarves, did the handymen use any glue on the scarves?
I'm wondering whether there is any permanent mark/damage from framing the scarves, or they should still look like perfect and you can still wear them again if you decided to?

I'm afraid if they put something like permanent glue (so that the scarf stays still), it will leave mark on the scarf?

No glue on mine. My framer uses acid-free archival tape to secure the scarf to an acid-free matt board. In theory, there will be no damage to the textile, although since the framing costs significantly more than the scarf itself, I have intention of taking the darn things apart!!!

I have two. Love them. Don’t have a photo of the second one hung but you get the idea.

Beautiful!! How did you guys get them so "crisp" looking? I don't particularly care overmuch about wrinkles in the ones I wear but obviously I'd want a framed one to look as flat as possible.

Les Folies du Ciel II in the lime green colourway. Loooooove this scarf and also have in pink and orange too.
Please excuse the reflections & shadows in this super sun shiny pic
Huge brushed silver frame, graphite matte and museum glass. Planning to do a few more and having a hard time to decide what's next ;)

I'm looking at doing this for a few scarves. Did you go to a professional framer or just bought and framed it yourself?

Went to a professional. Both the matte & glass had to be special ordered in the size as we wanted the finished to be huge at 42" square.

Planning two more frame jobs. One - a tryptych next with pochette scarves to go over a bed. Fun & bright each of the three in a different colour of Bal de Bulles. Two - La Maison des Carres maybe for my office!

Thanks for letting me know. I was hoping not to have to use professional framers, but I want the UV protection from museum grade glass.

If anyone is looking for a more temporary option, container store has metal mounting strips and magnets that I managed to turn into a scarf hanging system (I just secured along the top, but you could easily make a full square frame, do too/bottom, etc.). Can’t bear to never wear one again!
