Costa, these are BEAUTIFUL! I'm speechless!

Thank you CocoB! They are for a little girl room, and had to give a fairy taste to the room, that's why they are framed in gold and sparkling.

The other ones, in my eldest doughter room, are framed in what looks old silver (not sparkling). Quite neutral, for a teen ager room.

Costa, they look divine!!! Would love to see your 5 pani la shar pawnee. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! good life.

I moving to a new apartment soon after finally finishing off my academic studies, and I have been planning on framing some Hermes' scarves to use as wall art. It never even occurred to me that it is not a common thing to do; I saw that done many times when living in Europe. I was thinking of using a Gastronomie or a similar-themed scarf (maybe A La Gloire de la Cuisine Francais if I can track one down in the colorway I like) for the kitchen / dining room, and Bonsai / others with plants for the living room. The rest would depend on the apartment's color scheme.

In terms of wanting to wear your framed scarf, I think one solution (not a cheap one) would be to get multiples -- one to wear, several to frame. Sometimes I see scarves on eBay with tears in them but otherwise in good condition and at a low price, and I always to give them a good home by framing them -- the tear would not be noticeable, you are getting a bargain, and you will not be tempted to wear them :)

Also -- I have given framed Hermes' scarves to friends before as gifts. A rock collector got a Mineraux, and a travel enthusiast got a Chasse en Indie. In both cases, the color scheme worked both for their place and for their looks. Both ended up keeping them framed, although they were framed carefully, so they can be worn if desired.

It's very important that they don't use glue when framinig.

In this way you could always decide to unframe and wear it.

If they use glue than the scrf will be ruined forever.

Does anyone know of a good place to get frames or is custom framing the only way to go? I would like something flexible so if I want to wear a scarf or change it, it isn't permanently framed. I looked for frames in one place but they didn't have larger square frames that could work.

What about clips on a rod? I suspect that if the scarf won't lie flat that could be a problem or the clips might damage the hem (unless there are special clips?).

Hermes sells a kit that permits you to mount four anchors on the wall and then uses MAGNETS to hold the four corners of a scarf in place. I've forgotten the name, but someone here will remember it. The advantage is the the scarves are undamaged by the magnetized mounting process and can be changed (or removed and worn!) when your mood dictates! The only disadvantage is that the scarves have no protective covering of glass, as with a conventional frame.

I think it's called the Fixation? I believe I've seen a post about it somewhere in this forum ... Let me see if I can find it ...

Glad to help, Mindi B!

The reason I remembered the Fixation is because I too am interested in the topic of framing Hermes scarves, although I'm 99% sure I will go the traditional route, i.e. wood frame, matting, glass cover, etc. However, I hear it costs a bundle (more than the scarf itself is worth) to get it done professionally, especially if you want the scarves to last.

I ended up framing a scarf which didn't give the details enough justice when worn:

I love Cheval Surprise so much better framed!
