I have never lost a charm but I am careful with my pieces. Nonetheless, we all know how easy it is to greet an Hermes DISASTER. I have gone charm berserk and have come up with two ways to help me not worry about charms that I want to wear, not collect.

First, and the only method I have tried: if you put a tiny piece of tape over the opening of the clasp where the charm meets the flat piece, it cannot come off unless you yank it, or the tape comes off. I used packing tape--thick and perfect.

Second: I just ordered an inexpensive necklace chain extender and am going to try that. It will just wrap around chain and attach as a second connector--insurance.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the first tip, will definitely do that now!! As for the 2nd, can't really imagine how it works. Some pics would be great, if not too much trouble...

Charm-ers:

Here is Mr. Gator, my new charm with tape covering the spot that could allow for a loss of the charm. If this spot is covered, unless the poor charm is ripped off the bag, it ain't goin' nowhere. Even though it looks ugly close up, no one knows it is there but you. I used packing tape. --a wee little piece.
