Can I get some charm advise. I have a very rare charm coming my way and the silver chain clasp makes me a bit nervous about coming undone and falling off. Should I even be worried or is there a way to secure these better.

You are smart to be aware of this issue - I wasn't when I first used an animal charm and the darned thing took off. Fortunately, I noticed it pretty quickly and was able to find it. Now I make extra sure to secure the chain very securely. And honestly, my fave spends quite a bit of time dangling down inside my bag as I would be horrified to lose such a rare one...

I was happy to read you found your charm. My DH is pretty handy maybe I will get him to make me some kind of discret safety clasp, or hang it inside the bag when it might get bumped around. Thanks for the advise.

Celebrating my daughter's birthday who was born in the year of the horse. Thank you for letting me share.
Your charm collection is too cute! Your DD and I share a birthday year but probably decades apart. I got a silver horse key chain and a rodeo to celebrate this year but would like a ladybug charm as my DD loves it (her favorite toy is a ladybug stuff toy) so it'll remind me of her when hung on my bag.

Yes u r indeed smart! Unfortunately, that's how I lost my very first charm 8 years ago. I actually used it as a keychain and it fell off without me noticing it. Thankfully I managed to get a replacement recently. Lol
Do share if your DH comes up with any good DIY clasp.

I have never lost a charm but I am careful with my pieces. Nonetheless, we all know how easy it is to greet an Hermes DISASTER. I have gone charm berserk and have come up with two ways to help me not worry about charms that I want to wear, not collect.

First, and the only method I have tried: if you put a tiny piece of tape over the opening of the clasp where the charm meets the flat piece, it cannot come off unless you yank it, or the tape comes off. I used packing tape--thick and perfect.

Second: I just ordered an inexpensive necklace chain extender and am going to try that. It will just wrap around chain and attach as a second connector--insurance.

Hope this helps someone.

What a great idea. I am going to try to find an extender too.
