Which loafers do you all find comfortable, especially if you have somewhat wide feet? I've been eyeing the colette, royal, and paris... I really like the shape of the royal and paris (the slightly pointy look), but the colette looks like the leather is softer...
I have wide feet and I have the oz mules and the Paris loafers. I'm usually a true 36 but I've found in H shoes, by sizing up half a size, I'm able to get a slightly wider fit for my feet. Of course, your mileage may vary and there is natural variation batch to batch, so trying them on in a store is a must.

Agreed with above that when it comes to shoes, trying them in person is essentially a must and sometimes I’ve even found that to be inadequate, with issues only showing up later when I’m wearing and walking in them for a longer period of time. And I can confirm that batch difference exists: I have found Hermes shoes of the same style (same material same everything) from different years sized differently, and needed a different size when I tried to get a second pair.

Out of the 3 you mentioned, I own Paris and Royal and find both to be quite comfortable. I do have narrower feet though and I take the smaller end of my normal sizes in both (I’m size 36.5-7 depending on shoe and brand; these I need 36.5). The Colette reportedly has less secure hardware with reports of the hardware falling off, which is why I have not purchased them.

The most comfortable pair of H loafers I own is sadly not in production from what I can tell; it’s the Ancora loafers without any decorations and just plain leather. The soft leather plus lack of hardware is what made it the best in terms of comfort for me. The hardware can put downward pressure on the top of your foot. If you have tall ish feet that may be something to keep in mind, although I’ve found that in some shoes that pain goes away after I’ve worn them for a while so they can get broken in. This is one of the things I sometimes don’t even find out when quickly trying shoes on in store (probably don’t walk enough for the downward pressure to manifest itself) and only experience it later when I’m wearing the shoes out for the first time.

A side note: for all these shoes, creases will develop at the top of the shoe in the part that gets bent when you walk, naturally and inevitably. I know people who are a bit bothered by this, in which case the royal loafers imo has the least obvious creases (but it will still have them!) thanks to the fringes design.

Anyways, I cannot recommend trying shoes on in person enough! These styles should be pretty easy to find in store (although maybe not in the exact color / size you want). If you can, definitely do that first!

Thank you both for your helpful responses! 💕 And the detailed points as well -- the creases sometimes bother me, so good to know that the royal's design helps hide it a bit. I never thought I had tall feet until I purchased a pair of loafers from another store and started feeling the top part (the tongue?) dig into my skin 😬

I totally agree with you regarding the need to trying them on... (and even after trying them on in store, I've def experienced discomfort wearing them out b/c of the exact reasons you pointed out @momoc 🥲). I have tried on the royal + colette at a duty free shop. I'm a 38 for most shoes... chypre 38.5 was adequate with slight tightness for one foot, but santorini (which I adore) in size 38 -- my feet were swimming in it -- ended up not purchasing it (no other size to try on at the time).

For royal I need to check again - I think I tried on a 38 and it fit ok, but for colette they only had a 39 and it had a snug fit, so that surprised me... But lack of security with the hardware does concern me. So many important pieces of information to think through here :)

I'll definitely stop by the store next time and hopefully they have my size available... Thank you!

Hi,
I'm interested in getting a Kennedy loafer but unsure of the size to get. I am usually a US 8.5 with medium width so has been going back and forth between the 39.5 and the 40. Does anyone owns a pair and is able to share how they fit? How is the sizing? Are they TTS or do I need to size up?
Thanks in advance

are the oz mules easy to walk in? Do you have to “claw” the shoe with your toes? I’ve had mules before that I don’t like bc I find the shoe I have to really grip the shoes with my toes.
Oz is my favorite pair from H. No clawing needed

As @skybluesky mentioned, i dont recommend walking all around the city. As comfortable as they are, the soles are thin-ish. I regretted it wearing them to an all-day conference (that required walking back-and-forth between 3 buildings for different sessions), but for a few hour adventure (or even an office work you can sit down for a while) they should be good. Can't wait to see what you get!

Edited to say, these come TTS imo, though I sized up (but that was personal preference)

Thanks. Are yours white too?

Has anyone seen/tried the new Island sandals? They are TPU like the Egerie sandals but I like this design more. Hoping these are more comfortable!View attachment 5947944
My store received these in the blue colour. Pretty true to size I'd say. I agree I far prefer them to the Egerie and they will be perfect for my upcoming beach holiday. They look beautiful on the foot!

I bought my first pair of Hermes shoes, the Infra sandals, and I am wondering if I got the correct size. Where do I find the sizing? There is nothing on the box itself and just a long string of numbers on the inside of the shoes. I ordered a size 38.5, and had it delivered to the store. They felt a little short, but the 39 felt too long, so I’m wondering if I was given the 38 instead. Hopefully someone can solve the missing shoe size number on the sandals!
