Ode to Hermes Poncho

I don't have photos but I recently purchased the ltd. ed. Bivouac(as posted by Marvelgirl above). I am 5 feet flat on a good day and was apprehensive about the ponchos for all the reasons mentioned already in this thread having to do with my shorter stature. Went to my local boutique to ask my SA if we can bring some in to try, but to my surprise they had all 4 versions - the Rocabar in both the fall cw IF wears so well along with rouge version, the minimalist Alamo in black/navy, and the Bivouac. For me, because of the way the segments of color break up the expansive shape/form of the poncho, the Bivouac is the style that proves wearable despite my being umm, vertically challenged [emoji28] I wanted to get the blue/black minimalist version as well, unfortunately the swath of navy makes me look like Frodo/Samwise on their LOTR journey garb [emoji52]. Noteworthy is the Bivouac's multi color panels - the grey and gold sections are large enough to set the tone for your odj palette and coordinate with either warm or cool color tone of your bag or accessories choice. And those tassels! Sigh....

How does it look with black? Have you tried a black turtleneck? It seems like that's all I ever wear. But I am petite, so it was super helpful to hear what you think about the stripes. Thank you!

One more question if I may, for those of you who have had them for awhile, how to they wear? Any pilling or shedding? Thanks much!
I have the red Racobar and the navy/black Alamo. There is a slight bit of fluff transfer from the poncho to clothes so keep that in mind when deciding what to wear. No colour transfer, although I've instinctively made a point of not wearing a white shirt with either of the ponchos. There has been no pilling. All in all, I'm delighted with both.

I've had my blue Alamo for 3+years(?). Anyway, I use it for travel and Dr. appointments & hospital stays (aka it gets used a lot!) and it feels softer and more "squishy" then when it was new.

I never had color transfer or pilling. It's definitely aging well, which helped me pull the trigger on the newer gold and grey. That one is softer (by a little bit) than the blue is now, so I'm hoping it will hold up well. However, I don't have to many doubts that it will [emoji16]

You look gorgeous dear! Rocking that poncho and silk too.

Fantastic as ever Papertiger, you make me eager to get mine out to embrace the drop of temperatures here .
The best H investment ever !

Thank you so much ladies :flowers: :flowers:

I agree about the investment, I think I've had this poncho 4 years(?) and I wear it so much.

Love the new limited edition cw too but not sure if I need another.

Just saw the comments about the size, and yes, it is only one size and the same as the Rocabar. It's funny because it fit me a LOT differently than the Rocabar especially around the cut of the sleeves and I swore it had a slight difference in measurements. I tried on many Rocabars and this fit me differently so my SA measured it for me just to be sure but it was the same.

The price has a bit of a difference too (not sure why, maybe the color?) but it is nothing extreme.

If it helps, I'm pretty short like I mentioned and it doesn't feel that overwhelming to me which I worried about and felt about some of the Rocabars in colors that popped. I've seen this poncho on tall people and it looked lovely as well. It's great, and I too will bring it while traveling on a plane.
I'm shorty 5'1" 105 lbs always wear 2-3" heels , I didn't have a chance to try on or see this poncho in person just saw on Hermes.com * loved at first sight of these colors combo. After searched around I saw your picture and luckily the fact that we're similar height. I love how it looked on you. :hbeat: I pulled the trigger call my SA get one for me, yeah it's on the way. :yahoo:

Finally joined the club!!! Woohoo ~

Have been eyeing one for 3 years but couldn't pull the trigger since I looked like a dwarf in it (160cm)

But on my recent trip to Paris I tried on again and had my heart set on the Rocabar gris (looks purple-ish blue to me) but hubby convinced me to try this as he thought this colour looked grand and it's not an easy shade to make.... even the gent manning the door said I should get this so here it is!

Thanks for letting me share and all the inspiration!!
