Happy finally to be united with my Alamo! Hoping to take better pics later to show how it reverses to navy/BdP rather than BdP/navy as shown-- and a pic to show the rouge h trim! But for now, a street shot from Milan. Thank goodness for this thread or I'd have been tempted to start one with the terrible pun title "Reveal Milanese." :D

Oh my goodness! I can't wait to see this in person. If I ask really, really nice, will you let me try it? :D I hope you've been having a beautiful time in Milan.

Hi Poncho wearers,
Has anyone else been annoyed by the très unchic cheap looking acetate white care label sewn into the front of the poncho Rocabar . Not sewn down, just caught into the leather trim.
It's really horrible, obvious , and IMO not in keeping .
But it will be hard to cut it out without leaving a tell-tale strip of white acetate :nogood:

I'm so bugged by labels in garments , seldom are they well placed .
Also labels on almost everything else from apples to shampoo .Grrrrr.........

Hi frou frou...I completely agree with you regarding the white tag! Such an odd place for it, and it's quite challenging to remove it. I took a very small pair of scissors and carefully removed it. Thankfully there is not tell-tale white acetate strip.

I just cut it off with tiny sewing scissors and haven't thought about it since ... But then, I just cut off the tags of everything these days and don't give it a second thought, including H scarves.

Well, Eastwood, Newman, and Redford all rocked the poncho! Someone posted a great photo of Pharrell in the H Alamo poncho somewhere on this thread...
I think the Gris is the best color for a guy, and a rugged look probably suits it best for a man, whereas a more streamlined look works better for a woman.

It works well over baggy jeans and a denim or leather jacket.
Here are a few photos of men in ponchos, not H, but the same silhouette.

These are great looks for guys- I agree that the grays and darker earth tones are more suited for men although I do like the gris/anth poncho from this season on a woman as well.

Clint still rocks this look best in my world. I wonder- did Paul Newman and/or Robert Redford wear ponchos in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?

I used an exacto knife to remove mine. I placed a thin metal ruler underneath to prevent any damage to the poncho. Works great and doesn't leave any sign of the label.

have been at the boutique today - the SA called telling me the rocabar arrived. lucke me: it is just 70m from my apartment! i tried it on and it was gorgeous! first i thought the barenia was a little too prominent, but after a few minutes i got used to the look. now i am waiting for the alamo to arrive, too...and then i will have to make a decision! but as the rocabar comes in grey, the alamo in navy has to look really fabulous to make me change my mind. i am pretty sure to walk the rocabar back home by the end of the week!

I love this on you! I tried this color and style on in the store and didn't buy it, I was hoping to compare it to the Rocabar in person, I am regretting it now.

I'm sad to say that after being on the fence for a couple of weeks, I took my Rocabar back to H. Although I love it and it's my kind of thing, I practically live on a scooter, and a poncho isn't practical for my lifestyle....:nogood::cry:

This sounds really great!! Want to see pics as soon as possible! :D Bet you will walk out with the Rocabar... It is a totally cool piece and more suitable for men IMO. However, let's hear it from you! ;)

Hey, duna, this is really sad... I feel for you - especially as you say that the poncho is your kind of thing. However, can imagine that a scooter and the poncho are not the best combo... There are so many lovely CSGM out there presently - could this be some comfort for you...? :hugs:
