You prob know anyway but just in case and totally off topic (except for other members of the European branch of the CEAS, but before I forget:

For the only fedoras (worth having) in London, try Bates or Christys both now in Princes Arcade (off Piccadilly but Jermyn Street). Libertys (who now own Chistys) stock Christys too, but not the full range.

Bates are currently redoing their website (I'm wondering if they've changed hands recently?) but only a bit more £ than Christys.

 Hi Papertiger
Thanks for the fedora tip! I did some poncho damage at H this afternoon and need to lock myself away from retail therapy , but when I surface your recommendation will be acted upon!
Your BF took a great action shot of you in your Rouge H poncho , as Calexandre said it's a glorious PT image !
Oh yes , why don't we have a hilarious London meet with our Ps ? Only kidding.

Well, it's looking like buy now or never at the rate they're selling. Congratulations, I bet you look totally amazing. The yellow is wonderful

I have a huge problem in that I like them all. I'm very pleased I bought the one I did. At the time I thought it was very bright esp because I lived in such an urban area (I got used to being asked if I live in a wigwam). Now I appreciate the richness of the colour and the way the Barenia leather harmonises with the overall look.

Apart from the wool & cashmere Rocabar poncho, I've also purchased poncho en tissu eponge in Jaune and poncho pareo cotton in Potiron Turquoise from petit h recently. I think someone who is interested in h poncho may consider them as well.

Other choices from petit h:

I love these too, congratulations on yours. Petit H pieces are not only ingenious but unique

Don't want to be redundant but this really shoes the rouge Alamo in true color. Would have posted sooner but just figured out how to crop out my face.View attachment 2798363

 You always look utterly fabulous and very polished in yours

Bought the yellow one last year . The first two photos are I tried on the blue and yellow ones in store. The last 2 are outdoor mod pics taken today. For your reference. :sly:
BTW, I'm 5'4".

Congratulations on both old and new, both a lovely.

I'm so pleased this poncho thing is taking off, now people don't think I'm (quite as) wierd

Gahhhhhh!!!! Ok ladies, I took a ton of photos this morning but could not manage to upload them bc the App was giving me an error so I will have to do it from home when I get off of work this afternoon.

A few things as I noticed as I styled myself this morning....

-When wearing the Poncho to a more formal environment (such as work vs shopping), I prefer the classic look of a boot with a bit of a heel to elongate the legs... Although I am already 5'7 with pretty long legs, a riding boot missed the mark for me this morning and made me look a bit stubby. This is just my opinion. I will post pics with heeled boots, riding boots and UGGs later.... You be the judge.

-The poncho will make your clothes "hairy" although I said othrwise before. On black, I can see the yellow fibers... but I don't care.

(cont below as this app is really trippin!)

-However, a riding boot is PERFECTION when wearing this outfit to more informal settings. UGGs did not look too shabby either. I prefer the riding boot because it is more polished (yet still comfy), but I know I will go for UGGs when I go to the mall :shame:

-I'm naturally a very COLD person...always cold... never can get enough heat. The Poncho is very WARM.

-The tassels are so amazing. I can't say it enough.

-There is no issue fastening a seatbelt while wearing the poncho. I have an SUV I must slightly step up to get into... had no issues whatsoever.

-The Poncho does slip a bit when walking for a while. Only slips a little bit.... Not enough to make you frustrated.... I probably only noticed because I was paying attention to see if it would slip :D

More to come...

P.s. My 8 yr old son is NOT used to this look at all and asked me if it was "pajama day" at work. I asked why. He looked at me and said "that thing looks like you're wearing pajamas Mommy". Be prepared for this reacttion :giggles:

Hurry back home from work IF dying to see your photos!!!
I bought the same yellow Rocabar yesterday and waited for natural light this morning to check it out properly .l LOVE IT !

Somehow my brain needs to acclimatise to new silhouettes ,it took 3 times in H trying ponchos before I could see myself in it properly . And the yellow was so much better on me than the blue.
Now I'm off for a walk in the park .Hope to get photos...

Hilarious!! Love the honesty of kids 😄. Ponchos don't work for my petite frame but I'm loving this thread and can't wait to see your pictures.

OMG I bet your photos will be amazing in the park!!! The Autum leaves are going to set this cw off!!!!! :woot:
Honestly, static photos of this piece just don't do it justice!
Watching the poncho in action is soooo much better.
It can look like a blanket when one is just standing there, but natural movement brings it to life and shows how beautiful it really it. Is that a stretch to say? :smile1:

Nothing is a stretch to say about Hermès darling ;)

I swear, purseforum is so enabling! I'm in Hawaii on vacation and stopped by the local Hermes and thought well this poncho thing seems to have really taken off so why don't I try one on? Btw, the hawaii stores have plenty of Rocabars if anyone's looking...although I saw they're also available on the website now too. Alas, the red and yellow one just doesn't look that great on me.

However, there was a gorgeous black poncho on display! Does anyone know the name of this? I didn't get to try it on but it looked amazing on the mannequin. The price though was $5K...eeks!!! Unfortunately out of budget for a poncho.
