kashmira, calicocat, mistikat, GS, Kellybag, lovehermes, OB, HMonkey - THANK YOU!!!

GS I never like the veins or stretch marks that runs on Togo and Fjord and I'm not a fan of large grains with bumps that are increasingly found on Togo. IMO, chevre has fine grains that are neither bumpy nor flat. It looks like fine lines yet upon closer inspection it appears like mini goosebumps! Oh and the aroma of chevre...

OB I'm very much looking forward to seeing your chevre HAC. To me, in non-exotic skin, nothing comes close to chevre. Even in black, the coromandel leather takes the colour so beautifully, never a dull moment. The sheen reflects the richness and depth of the sombre colour, almost rendering a 3D effect. It sparkles literally!

HM, will try to get you a modelling pic soon.

Hi Ms P,

I understand that this post is old, but was wondering if you could share your experience with a Chevre birkin? I recently got Kelly in Chevre Mysore and love the leather so much! My birkins are all togo and now I am considering Chevre for my next 30cm birkin. Studying pros and cons of Chevre on TPF, I only have a concern of corner wearing.

Chevre Pro - lovely color, smell, structure, light weight
cons - show wear the most on the corners (don't know how bad it is?)
Togo Pro: work horse. cons: heavy

How often do you use your chevre skin and how does it hold? Your help is really appreciated as I am trying to order :smile1: my birkin in early next year.

Thanks so much!!!!

Corner wearing is not really a problem, my chevre birkins and kelly have been to the spa ad came back perfect :smile1:

My chevre ardoise birkin is my work horse, also, I use it a lot when traveling and it's great. No fair with the rain or dust. The leather has soften a bit, but not slouchy.

Holds better than Togo/clemence imo

My chevre bags are chevre de coromandel which I find to be thicker and hence sturdier than mysore which feels thinner. I don't particular find chevre corner wear to be any worst off than other leather like togo, clemence etc. All leather bags will inevitably go through corner wear. I have to say my chevre de coromandel bags have held up really well in spite of being my work horse bags (I don't necessary baby them but I do take care). They kept their shape. I can't comment on chevre mysore as yet, so hopefully more can chime in with their experience.

Chèvre Mysore 35 Birkin in Rouge H with ardoise

Rouge H looks so different in chèvre, especially compared to my rouge h box leather bags. The chevre gives it a waxy-like shine.

I love Chevre. I've just bought an Evelyn wallet in Chevre Mysore in Parme (love that colour btw). I need to post the pics here asap.

Am considering buying a Birkin in Chevre. I read that corners of Chevre bags wear out easily; and indeed this bag's corners have some scuffings. My Q is would Hermes be able to refurbish the corners like they do with Togo and Clemence?

Pics of my Chevre Mysore Wallet in Parme...

It's very difficult to capture the colour ...in some pics it's more purple and in some others it's more blue....

I had one and the corners refurbished beautifully. It got slouchy with time though which I didn't like...hence why I didn't keep it.

I believe chèvre Mysore gets quite slouchy with use but the coromandel is structurally a little stiffer. I have a 10 yr old bag in chèvre coromandel it's still standing tall and getting more gorgeous with time.
