medusa, may I ask which year is the noir HAC? Is your chevre the original coromandel vs the souple version found lately?
hi Ms Piggy,
May I tap on your fountain of knowledge? Would a CDC birkin with stamp A, be considered the original coromandel?
TIA !
Am I right to say that Chevre is not as stiff as Box or Togo, but not as slouchy as Clemence, it is considered a structured bag (if it's a Birkin or Kelly) and will always hold its shape.
Chevre is not as stiff as Boxcalf but I would not go as far to say it's softer than Togo or that Togo is stiff. Chevre generally will hold its shape. Notwithstanding, Mangalore is a fairly new leather (2008) and is by far the most pliable of all chevre skin to date. It's still too new to know for sure if it would hold its shape in time to come
I understand that Chevre is a goat leather, so it is slightly more expensive than the general H leather like Togo and Clemence?
Yes, it's the 2nd most expensive non-exotic leather after Vache Liagee
In terms of weight, Chevre is lighter than Togo and Clemence?
Yes
Chevre is the general term for goat leather -Do Mysore, CDC, Jahnsi and Mangalore mean different types of goat leather ?
Yes, they are from different species of goat and each has its own unique characteristics
am I right to say these goat leather can be differentiate from the thickness of leather and the grains?
Yes, the size and pattern of the grains as well as other characteristics like the spine and sheen of leather
