If there is a thread like that, I haven't seen it! It's an interesting idea, both to show how Box may have been different in different years, and also to show how it ages. Several months ago, I ordered a BBK from the 1970s from Fashionphile. Ended up returning it as it was immediately clear a 28 was too small for me, but the leather wasn't like any Box I had seen -- it was much softer and had a sheen, almost Swift-like!
If you do start the thread, I'll happily contribute my 1993!![]()
This would be a great idea, even if just a write up and some pictures here. I own or have owned box from the '50s, '70s, '80s, and '90s plus chamonix from 2000s. All of the decades of box are different.
That'd be very helpful if you guys can start a thread on box from different periods. I'm looking to buy a vintage Kelly in box and I've read somewhere here that box in later half of the 80's and in the 90's are divine.
Love the idea of #boxcalfnerds!
Hi ladies! Forgive me, I have no pictures for my rouge vif box since it is now in FSH spa, but as i was talking with the SA, he told me:
1 out of 10 bags are made from box
5:10 togo (i'm guessing this leather is the most produced?)
And the others are a mixture of clemence, swift etc.
Thought i would share
Ps. thanks quellefromage for the new thread!
Thank you for your response! She is the bag in my avatar at the moment. She went straight to Docride and had some amazing tlc. Now I am thrilled - I use her daily with a Samorga felt bag organizer and am just so content. All my things as a mother to a 3 year old fit well, and the brique colour really does seem to work with whatever I am wearing! I think the pop of white contrast stitching keeps it really fresh and young. I must post a picture soon.Congratulation. Brique in box is absolutely exquisite.
...and I am assuming from your avatar that you know your box red colours very well! That Jige is so chic!!!Congratulation. Brique in box is absolutely exquisite.

I would check out Docride's thread on leather care to better understand. Box does not regenerate itself, but with proper treatment can often be restored and look wonderful. Of course, some scratches are not reparable. Is it true that Box calf leather scratch can restore by itself as time goes by? Some box calf birkin can look like brand new one after 10 or 15 years by going to spa for once? How can box calf leather restore it's scratch without going to a spa? Please explain to me if you know the answer. Thanks a lot.
Cool info! Yes, please post anything ya got in the new threadHi ladies! Forgive me, I have no pictures for my rouge vif box since it is now in FSH spa, but as i was talking with the SA, he told me:
