Am now so in love with box that I am considering a birkin just when I thought I'd only do box in Kelly.
Could someone kindly tell me if it is noticibly lighter in weight than togo/clemence please?
That is, would a Birkin 35 in togo feel heavier than a 35 box? Thanks in advance!!!

yes box is definitely lighter especially when carrying lots of things..! and no the H madness doesn't end...:p

OMG! OMG! OMG!
I just won a 35 brique box birkin!! I am so excited! I think she is going to come up a real treat too, and because she is used already I don't have to be so precious with her!
Thanks for your responses re weight - can't wait to do a reveal! Next stop, Docride!!!

I'm wondering if there is a thread anywhere about the different eras of box calf with photos of different years? I am tempted to start one as my box bags (1980, 2000, 2002) are all so different....

If there is a thread like that, I haven't seen it! It's an interesting idea, both to show how Box may have been different in different years, and also to show how it ages. Several months ago, I ordered a BBK from the 1970s from Fashionphile. Ended up returning it as it was immediately clear a 28 was too small for me, but the leather wasn't like any Box I had seen -- it was much softer and had a sheen, almost Swift-like!

If you do start the thread, I'll happily contribute my 1993! :smile1:

This would be a great idea, even if just a write up and some pictures here. I own or have owned box from the '50s, '70s, '80s, and '90s plus chamonix from 2000s. All of the decades of box are different.

I will create a thread! As soon as I can take decent photos of my box bags I'll post it. It would be great to have a reference thread on box of different eras. Even my 2000 and 2002 Kelly and Bolide are very different - the 2000 is soft and velvety with a touch of sheen or sparkle, and the 2002 is stiffer without the sheen (but not matte like chamonix).

That'd be very helpful if you guys can start a thread on box from different periods. I'm looking to buy a vintage Kelly in box and I've read somewhere here that box in later half of the 80's and in the 90's are divine.

I can tell from small eBay pictures what box is from 1994–1998 or thereabouts. It's truly divine. SO Plush.
