Hello fellow Barenia lovers,

As promised, a before-during-after sequence of pics to show how Barenia looks with the Baume applied.

1. Before (looking just fine, but a little bit dehydrated)

2. Resting with a coat of Baume on the front, looking dark, oily, streaky, and a little scary!

3. After-- a supple bag with the scratches blended in, looking a little glossier overall

4. You can see the amount of Baume I used to do the back, sides, and bottom of a PM Evelyne-- that little divet at the top of the Baume is where I scooped a small quantity out. I then just apply a little at a time with my fingers. Some areas will want more Baume than the others-- don't worry, it'll all look even in the end, and honestly you can slap it on pretty hastily and the bag will take care of it. No buffing necessary-- just let it sit and soak in. :smile1:

Thank you so much for sharing! really hope i can get this baume!

Thank you dear calexandre, I'll do the job and post pics before and after me too during the weekend.

What a wonderful result! The middle part is, however, really a bit scary and I am glad that I have seen this before I tried myself... ;) Thank you so much!! :flowers:

This balm cannot be purchased in the USA but I was lucky enough to have a friend send me some. I dab it on my corners, piping, any spot that has a brush of use on all of my Togo and fjord bags all the time. It makes any scuff look better.

I have a girlfriend who completely "restored" the life of her workhorse barenia by herself with this miracle balm.

I might even start putting it under my eyes for goodness sake!!

Dear sparklelisab! This sounds great!! And if I could also use it to put it under my eyes, this balm is suddenly comparatively cheap! :giggles:

as promises before/during and after treat barenia

striking product for barenia!
thank you very much again calexandre

Sissy have you ever sent your Barenia bags to the H spa? I sent mine twice but I'm still afraid to treat it myself. I don't have the Hermès baume, I have used on my Barenia HAC and Vache Naturelle Birkin an Italian product for sadles called Curium Balsam by Veredus, do you know it? I find it excellent, but I haven't tried it on my newer Barenia Birkin....

no dear I have never send them to spa. I have done it by myself for the first time, following the instruction of calexandre and using the hermès balm, I have posted a pick of the balm in this thread some pages ago ;)
stunning results! very happy that I can take care of them directly.
do it without any doubt, better with the original hermès balm

I was a very brief member of the Barenia club when 3 years ago I bought a new B30. Well, its first trip was to London and it was the most uncomfortable journey as I dreaded every knock fearing a scratch, every drink encounter fearing a spill.

Needless to say, I sold the bag straightaway as I believed I was far too feint hearted for this leather. Roll on 3 years and today I am the proud owner of a barenia Kelly 32 with brushed palladium hardware. It is in superb condition having been barely carried. All the hardware still had its plastic on and the velvet nap and smell was still there. Of course it has the odd rub particularly around the clasp but it has just started its patination journey.

I now have a delightful evening planned rubbing in all the scratches, watching them blend in and getting to know my beauty. Living the dream:)

This is my dream bag. :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I love all the eye candy on this thread, and thanks for the tips, everyone. Barenia is heavenly. Now I have to find this H saddle cream.

The other night I was caught in a downpour. Tucked my carré into my blouse, but the barenia Christine got completely soaked. No problem. She dried out in the car and looked better than ever by the time I got home. I am still amazed at the hardiness of this bag. And the aroma!
