Speaking of smells, my clemence Evelyne had a funky chemical smell when I bought it; it took a few months to go away, but it actually made me a bit nauseous at first, so I understand about the strong smell bothering you, even with something as yummy as barenia.

oh really? how interesting. I love touching Barenia. I was just wondering how it was by luck that I called and asked for something in barenia. I thought they'd say they have an agenda or something. She said, I have a 32 cm Kelly and I will know by MOnday if it is sold or not. I called on Monday night after they closed (6.05) and she called me back to let me know it is there!

Let's meet in heaven ;)

I think I need to get somthing in Barenia ...

i have asked our inhouse expert docride on this, but i thought i shall ask you guys as well to lighten her burden: any of you have a pic of natural barenia that has been treated with saddle balm?

i am hoping to own a barenia bag next year sometime. but it has lots of signs of wear on it. i was hoping to make the body darker to match the worn handles and to protect the bag at the same time. especially the bottom corners. i was told it is going to "flatten" the barenia as well as the desired darkening. i think i know what this is going to look like but do not want to gamble with my imagination! especially since some people seem to prefer not to touch barenia in any way no matter what.

i also heard mix reviews about taking natural barenia out in the weather. i walk a lot and am exposed to 4 seasons in one day all the time. so if i wait for a day that will never rain, i will never carry my barenia!

but this is coming from someone who did not realize until recently that one does not wear one's suedes in the rain. so far i have managed to simply brush away the water beads off my suedes with my hand and they seem to be fine...

can get some inputs from barenia lovers?

Docride's threads are some of my favourite things on this forum. Here's the new-to-me 30cm Black Barenia Brushed PH:love::

^ Thanks so much, robee. If you are referring to the bag at Kaleidoplace, I am not its new owner. Mine is a 30cm (my preferred size for the rather heavy barenia leather) and not the 35cm with the same specs. Someone out there is the owner of my bigger twin ;)
