1st post and opening with this beauty... The smell is HEAVENLY but I have to get used to the scratches that it gets by merely looking at it (which is what I constantly do)

I got my first Halzan 31 Barenia leather but I’m hesitant use is as a crossbody when I wear jeans , anyone know will it easy to transfer color on it ?

I have the same bag and often wear jeans. No transfer yet, but, boy, did I scratch her up quite a bit. Now I'm just waiting for her to get her patina.

Congrats, barenia is my favourite leather. I have a mini halzan and I also wear jeans but mostly black, grey and white. No issues with these, but I would be careful with blue denim that is new or damp from rain.

I thought I would share my recent experience. I brought my fauve barenia Kelly to dinner the other evening and the server accidentally spilled a drop of something onto my bag. The bag was sitting on the chair behind me so I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but I know it was after he brought me and my friend (who was sitting next to me) our drinks and prior to the salad course (so thank goodness this was not salad dressing or some other oil-based sauce!). My friend had ordered a mule and I had a gin cocktail, so regardless it was something with alcohol and sugar but fortunately relatively clear. My heart stopped when I saw the spot.



Initially I just dabbed with a dry towel and let it dry, but I saw that as it was drying it was leaving behind a little ring at the edge. So I wet a napkin towel with water and dabbed at the spot, essentially rewetting (and darkening) it again in an effort to dilute out the alcohol/sugar, and it seemed to work. This time when it dried it appeared pretty normal. To be on the safe side, I repeated the process 2 more times, gently dabbing the area with a clean napkin towel that had been wet with water. After the final drying, I gave my entire Kelly a gentle wipe down with a slightly damp towel. Afterwards I couldn’t tell that anything was ever there. Barenia is magical!

Me and my H sister got these two beauties over the weekend. 18C and 25B - I already left my nose prints on there and luckily they can be wiped off easily. The smell is intoxicating!
