Yes exactly, I was meant type this...
"when put next to the togo, the gold togo leather looks dull when compared to barenia", barenia definitely has more depth, when placed side by side.

I am so happy with both though I used to think I would be too crazy to keep both, most of the people I know can't tell the difference, but I can and they serve different purposes in my bag collection :)

OMG! The panic inside of me when I saw the first picture! Thank goodness she is ok. I just purchased a Barenia Fauve from FSH and I was wondering about a couple of things:

1)Is yours the original (not the textured Faubourg) Barenia?

2)How old is yours?

3)Have you treated it with anything in anyway prior to the rain incident?

4)Did you blot or wipe the rain off?

I am still in that hesitation to take her out in the real world phase so any advice you could impart on me would be greatly appreciated!

After I got indoors I dabbed at the drops a little bit with a paper towel, but most of it was already soaked in so I just let it dry naturally.

Congratulations on your amazing bag!! And from FSH too - so special! Hehe, I had the same panic the first time anything happened to my barenia, but I’ve gone through this a few times now and my barenia has always recovered beautifully!

Yes, mine is the smooth Fauve Barenia leather, not Barenia Faubourg. She’s young, only a little over 1 year old! I don’t treat my barenia with anything. If it gets wet and I have a chance, I’ll dab at the water drops. This was a heavier rain so by the time I had a chance, most of it was soaked in already. I blotted a little bit but most of it evaporated on its own. I was surprised by how quickly it dried!

Barenia is a magical leather - my advice is to just use it and love it! It scratches easily but over time the scratches will fade and blend, so don’t fret too much over it! The biggest thing to avoid with Barenia is oil - oil will soak in easily and will darken the leather in that area. If you do get an oil spot, put a little bit of corn starch in that area (let it sit for several hours or even a couple or days) to blot up the oil. It will help lighten the oil spot. This is also from personal experience lol - I once was cooking and splattered hot oil onto my barenia watch band. I also splashed salad dressing on my barenia B once - that time I cleaned it off with a damp paper towel first and then used the corn starch to fade the spot. That spot stayed for a little bit longer initially but is no longer visible now. Granted, my non-water incidents have all been very small. If you have a larger spill, it’s still best to seek professional help or take it to Hermes. I hope this is helpful!
