Know just what you mean! So far I have been able to deal with barenia in small doses. I don't know if I could handle an entire bag of it unless it was in a darker color like ebene or perhaps, vert olive. I refuse to do the twilly thing on the handle of any bag. So far I just have my barenia/horsehair Kelly and that has held me so far.

I don't like the twilly on bags but I do it in the summers on my red and lighter bags....but just in the summers or when I take it on a trip. just to protect it.

I have found a barenia birkin I love....natural barenia.....and its used so its already has its first bump and grinds.

I'm a little wary of natural or light shaded barenia for the oil marks as mentioned before. I love the look of barenia/saddle leathers all marked up and stained...but only if it's in the form of a saddle! For my bags I like a cleaner look, and unfortunately for me, I like them brand new too. So..ebene barenia it is! That is, someday when I can convince my SA to take my order for it, then another oh 3-5 years of waiting:rolleyes: if I'm lucky.

Just came back to drool. w.y.h, may I ask, is this the true color of your vert olive baby? I have seen a vert olive birdie irl and it looked completely different... I wonder... Vert Olive barenia owner, does your baby change colors depends on the light too?

I just went through this entire thread again, some 7 months later, and still love looking at these bags...the patina'd natural barenias, the indigos...love them all....
