Thanks for the update. I will be coming up to NY from DC for the entire day of March 25 for the sale and a private tour of the Neue Galeire. Anyone who would care to join me is welcome.
I will be at the sale @ 12:00 Noon and will be wearing a black Twilliane from the 90's with the paprika/peppers scarf on the front. Just look for that for our meet up.
Havent been to one before, but I hope security doesnt make me check my twilliane at the check in!

At the new york sale, you will be asked to check your purse and any bags that you have, however you are not asked to check scarves. My advice is to arrive early as they will only allow a certain number of shoppers in at a time.
Susanvon -- that's funny! I'm going to DC from NY on the 25th and 26th!! This limits my H damage to whatever I can accomplish on the 24th (unless I can sneak in on the 23rd).
How strict are they with the list after a few hours of nagging by people like us? At the last Cartier private sale, they didn't even care if you knew a sales associate or not. They let anyone in...
If you are talking about the private sale day, you actually have to have your invitation to be admitted. The invitation is collected at the door before you are allowed in----there is no list.
If it is not the private sale, then it is completely open to the public & no nagging is required.

I'm a public sale veteran -- this will be my 10th year of H sales. The private sale is my HG. Someday...
How lucky you are to have been able to attend them for so many years----I bet you've found some wonderful treasures!!!
I mostly bought scarves and they didn't have much more than scarves, shoes, RTW and fragrance. It's only been the last couple of sales where they've had enamels, good leather bags and all sorts of fun little items. I cannot wait for the upcoming sale!!!!
I am SO glad I dropped by this section of the forum because otherwise I would have missed the memo entirely. There should be an eBay-like feature where you can save searches on here and receive email alerts. 
Even though I have two major exams on Thursday, I will be there bright and early on Wednesday morning. It's all about planning.

Does anyone know if there is a no phone policy at the sale? I would imagine everyone would be on the phone.....I wonder if there is any reception? I want to get my mom a gift, but I want to make sure it is what she likes and I do not know if I can contact her

I cannot remember which year it was, but I seem to recall one year that they even checked my ID to make sure I was the person on the invitation. Last year they just collected the invite. There are always people who try to get in another person with the one invite, but in those situations, they are pretty strict. I saw them turn away the husband of a wife who had the invitation. It was one VERY loud conversation.
