NY Spring 2010 Sale?

I think, someone, maybe SDsurfchick, said Sunday morning may be for Hermes employees? I don;t really recall who said it though. Happy Hunting and Good Luck to all!

Hermes Nutty Nut, are you going back? Apologies for not being able to catch up the last time I saw you - I have been enjoying your reveals here on TPF. hugs

I read somewhere that this morning the sale is for employees and I've heard they bring out "special" things for them, then sell what's left to the public in the afternoon. If that's true, I am soooooo tempted to go back.

880 - If it was sunny and warm today, I would go for sure. But as of this moment, I don't think I will.

Gina123, you have to go to the one next year - Robee, TT, D, palom, all of you. I'll treat to mini sandwiches at Nespresso cafe afterwards. hugs

880 I am totally in (it's me palomar..:graucho:)!!! I can almost taste the nespresso!!

Gina123 We should talk strategy on how to sell this to DHs!!

palomar, its almost as fun hanging out with tpfers and scarfies on line and then running around seeing what everyone else is grabbing. Robeee would just go insane lol - xoxo

Wouldn;t it be great if H could time the sale to a boat show or something that could interest the DH's? There is a scotch bar in tribeca. . . .

Hey, BBC, I am just curious. How to dress like a typical Hermes customer? I had been always treated not very nice when I shop at Riverside Hermes. So, I moved my scarves hunting to NM, where they offer better services. I want to learn some tricks from you if possible. Thanks.

Hi, Laynzhu, what I meant by that is I am not a casual dresser in general. You will find me in dresses most of the time, or something cut well and classic. I don't wear jeans at all (except one pair of white, one pair of black), and I generally avoid pants, save for a few pairs. That is my "uniform"; it is what I am most comfortable in, and I dress that way for myself...I'm like the little girl who loved to play "dress-up" and never grew out of that. :smile1: But I do not judge others based on what they wear, and I am hanging out on line with the khaki-and-comfortable-shoes crowd.

I would like to think that it is my personality that gets me assisted at the stores. I am super-friendly, polite, knowledgeable and respectful. By both my appearance and my demeanor I show that I mean business...at least, until I am a "regular", as I am at my local boutique, and I will just pop in to commisserate or to see what's new. That said, it really shouldn't matter what you wear to the shop, and bad service is bad service, which should not be tolerated. I suppose if you wore something H, it would show that you're a customer, but really, I just wouldn't suggest you go back there if you can avoid it.

What should I do??? I was supposed to go out of town on biz today, but it was postponed by a week - so, in essence, I have a found day. Do I spend it with DH, or leave him in my dust...

(BTW, I was there Tuesday too)

Good luck to those going back Sunday!! Please share your purchases here!

Ms Piggy, how about coming in for next years sale? It could be well worth the trip!

BBC, great post. I dress because I want to see how my would be purchase would fit in with what I already own. I don;t want anything to scream new or not comport with my aesthetic.

And also - this is somewhat pathetic - 1) to remind myself I don;t need another fill in the blank here 2) because I work on my computer out of my home - so TPF meets are a nice occasion to use my clothes.

But, my SA's at various stores have seen me in lululemon sweats or dolled up - it makes no difference.

Good luck to everyone today. It may be a very good day if they are bringing stuff in for the SA morning sale. The leftovers may be fantastic.

880, no apologies needed. DH's business surely takes precedence. I did end up with what I wanted (thanks to FashionistaO). If I didn't have a broken knee and went myself, I am sure I would have spent way too much money, based on all the great stuff that's been reported. But it does seem that the sales have gotten progressively better over the past few years, so I will be sure to be at the next lol.

Here's the loot from my second excursion, yesterday. A few more scarves, an Evelyne scarf ring, a Neon prune H cadena, and
a bottle of Elixir de Merveilles (which I've decided I don't really like). The red is lily's Silky Pop - didn't want to open
her up - she's the fuchsia, same as hermesmonkey's.

Very nice, LGA. The Tout en Quilts look beautiful, and I'm so excited to see my Silky Pop there with the rest of your loot. :yahoo:
