In Rome, Italy, sales are being advertised in the windows. I hear tons of Kellys, jewelry, scarves are on sale all over Europe depending on the city ...there seems to be more on sale as far as handbags, etc. outside of Paris ...where Hermes has other stores ....

My SA said they are sending out invite soon. Therefore it will be in March but first some boutiques are having ins tore sales and then it will be the crazy sale on 18th street.

And pls correct me if I'm wrong but only the person named on the invite can use it? :confused:

For the Sample Sale on 18th St. no invitation needed :tup:
Just have to wait in looooong line lol

NY Sample sale usually opens to the public on a Wednesday and ends on the weekend. There is an early opening on Tuesday that is by invite only. One time I went they didn't check names but they did stick to one invite one person policy.

Store sales I have never had to use invites BUT never see the store sales advertised like the NY sample sale.

I heard the sale is on March 25th, correct me if I am wrong.

I do have a question about H sales...does NY hold a "public" sale in their stores?
In Boston, there is a "public" sale for costumers here with I believe up to 60% off scarfs, ties, shoes, etc. but since NY has a few stores do they not have sale items in the stores and instead holds this huge sale?
I am just curious.

I was told the date today and my pea brain forgot the date! I will find out tomorrow. Now, for those of you who went to the last one in the fall and experienced the horrible disaster of a sale that I did, I was RE-assured today that H has taken steps to make this private sale more pleasurable. There will be fewer invitations for the private sale thank goodness. It was anything BUT a private sale last fall. They are also trying to make sure the technological disaster with the cashiers will not happen again. H has heard our cries and they are certainly trying to do something about it. I rarely complain, but man, did they get some words from me and a ton of other people.

Hi hermesmonkey, wow, must've been a terrible experience last year! Do you have a thread about that incident? (i.e. the technological disaster etc.)

I was told by my SA the sale will be in April (not sure the date), as I will be in NY early May, SA thought I may have chance to go to sale, but later he found out that my date doesn't match.
